My First Few Days Illegal Busking Days on Rising Star

Occasionally, I enjoy listening to random songs. It reminds me of the days when I listened to the radio during car drives - and even sang along to them. I checked out Rising Star out of curiosity and the experience gave me a feeling of nostalgia. Now I'm here to stay.

What is Rising Star?

Rising Star is a blockchain music game where you start as a lowly busker. Tough life, I know. But in life, you gotta grind.

You can start for free or buy Starbits and use them to buy cards that give a boost to your career. From there, you carry on missions using your energy and in return, you get XP, Starbits and a chance to get a bunch of drunk people as fans.

More fans give you bigger stages to perform on. Higher pay awaits but use more energy and they take longer to finish. As you progress in RS, you'd be able to unlock other zones aside from Home Town. This is my first week playing so I wouldn't cover that for now. Home Town can be cozy too, you know.

Available Home Town Missions

Home is where you start your journey as an artist. In this universe, I'd like to think of myself as a level 0 musician and all I have is the guts to busk. Without a license.

The Wonders of Illegal Busking

With my heart in my throat, I sneak behind a police officer and get into the spot I've been eyeing for a long time. Once they're far enough, I pick up my guitar and start to pluck my strings. Here goes nothing...

As an RS newbie, you can have access to this first mission which requires nothing more but 10 fans and 15% energy. You don't have much time to perform songs when you're busking without a license so a quick 5-minute song will do. 1 to 14 Starbits isn't so bad for a quick run. With 100% energy, you can do this at least 6 times in a day.

This has been my life now; clicking on Start and waiting for the countdown. But, it's not so lonely out here since RS plays tunes in the background. What's even better is a lot of the songs streamed on RS are from real musicians who mint music NFTs on the platform. Nobody said discovering new music could be this fun!

Free to play? Play to earn? Yes, and yes.

I didn't come here just to play, I wanted to get some free Starbits too!

So much cards... I want them all!

When I started out in Splinterlands, all I did was play for free but as I enjoyed it more and liked how it was going, I bought a couple of things. Here on Rising Star, I wanted to start from zero and see where I end up in the following days, months or even years.

Alas, I liked this game a bit too much that I was itching to go on shopping. Thank heavens I'm broke.

This lead me to join numerous giveaways at C/Rising Star Game and jump on to awesome Twitch streams by different content creators. If you have free time to hangout, chill and get the chance to get cool prizes, you should try it too!

I managed to get a free Tanpura and some Starbits which I used to buy Bo, a Mid Range Mic, and an RS Micro Synth. Using a little bit of my Hive, I indulged myself and bought one pizza box which keeps a piece of discarded pizza. You can use that to replenish your energy. Yum!

So far, I've reached Level 11 and earned 4699 Starbits in 4 days! And my tiny list of achievements look like this:

  • Total Missions: 115
  • Illegal Busking: 38
  • Open Mic Night: 43
  • Mid Week Support: 29
  • Licensed Busking: 5

My current goal is to get another pizza box but after that, I'll have to find out what to do next! Hopefully I could share more than my first experience with Rising Star.

You've reached the end of my post. Thanks for reading!
