DIY I Just Did a Palm for a Caring Customer
Hello lovely friends of NeedleWork, I have really missed you all with your good chat and creative needle works. I really apologize for being absent for some time now in the community. I faced a lot of health challenges which was the key reason I was unable to make some creative needles work. Right now, I’m getting stronger and partially back for my shoemaking works both in crochet and leather.

I was able to resume work yesterday but gaze what? I met one of my prominent shoemaking customers who told me that he has been asking my shoemaking team about me and they told him that I was partially ill. The customer also told me that he never wanted them to make any footwear for him because he always believes in me. This was how I was able to make a palm for the customer.

To my greatest surprise, when the customer came to collect the palm which I made for him, he praised my skill in shoemaking and encouraged my shoemaking team to always make sure they keep working with me to make sure that my future goal in shoemaking is achieved. The customer also told my shoemaking team that my loyalty and sound skill is what has kept him close as a customer.

I hope that you love the palm too. Without wasting much of your time, I will like to express the materials, tools, and procedures that were used in making the palm. The essence of doing this is to enable you to make the palm for yourself or for your loved one.

The material which I used in making the palm is as follows:
Foreign leather which I used in designing the top design.
Sole which I used in padding the downside of the palm, serves as protection from the sharp object during usage.
Thread: this was used in sewing the palm in order to make it last longer.
Gum: this is commonly used in holding leather together to avoid water from penetrating.

Tools that were used in making the palm are also considered below:
Sewing machine and needle.
Hammer.
Scissors/cutter.
Sandpaper machine.
Brush for gum application.

We are now going to be looking at the procedures adopted:
All the materials were acquired from the market.
Making proper measurements of the palm leg size including the top design was adopted.
After the measurement, use a pen to make a sketch of the leather to be used.
After you must have done that, use a scissor/cutter to cut out the areas of your sketch.
Right now, you have to take the top leather design of the palm to your sewing machine. Sew according to the design measured.

After you must have achieved that, use a sandpaper machine to make some cracks in the top leather design and the sole.
Right now, you have to use a brush to apply some gum to the sole and top leather design.
After the gum application, make sure to place them under the sun for about 2hrs for drying.
After drying, please fix your palm carefully. After that, use a hammer to tap.

Hi apunawu, I am always happy to see you and your beautiful sandals,😍 that handwork is to be admired.
Apunawu, you always make beautiful things, I think you can acquire better recognition if you improve the photos, you can use the cropping and editing tool, so for sure you will be more supported.
I remember when I first came to the platform we were advised to use a size for the photos and a certain amount, I have noticed that the amount has changed, now they like you to post a lot of photos, but the size still matters.
If you are interested in the topic we can continue talking a little bit by discord,🙈 look for my user Carolinacardoza-8592😘

That's a nice compliment from you. This will help me do more.
Hello Chris. Too bad to hear that you're sick but it's good to know that in spite of that your clients wait for you and choose your work. This is not surprising because it looks very good quality and they know how to value it.
I hope you get better soon. Greetings and have a nice day ❣️.
Thanks my good friend for loving and caring. I'm always overwhelmed by how I receive such a touching comment not minding the distance but at least Hive has made it possible to connect with people around the world wich you're one of the nice people that I have met.
I hope that soon you will fully recover your health, it is difficult to deal with that and the main thing is always to take good care of yourself.
I really like how the upper part looks, I hadn't seen something like that where I live, shoe models always have straps and that's it, that looks great.
Thanks, dear for your concern about me and my work. Greetings.
Your work is really pretty and clean, I really admire the slippers . I’m certainly going to make one for myself😩❤️. Nice work
It'll surely be an honor to see you make one footwear for yourself.
