March 8 - Women's Day (7pics)

Greetings friends.
The day of March 8 this year has already become history. This is not an easy day in the life of my country, it is a holiday. International Women's Day.
This holiday begins with the last working day. That is, on the eve of the holiday, men in offices begin to congratulate female colleagues. For example, in the company where my wife works, the women were released from work at noon, and in the morning the men gave them a traditional small festive concert right in the office.
I will not tell the story of the origin of this holiday, but I will say that I believe it originated in New York.
March 8 is also often called the "First Spring Holiday" in Russia. On this day, it is customary for men to give gifts to women and always flowers. This is the most floral day in Russia.
In 1987, I took my mother live tulips for about 10 hours for 200 km on 2 buses. I was afraid they might freeze. Calendar spring has already arrived, but the weather these days is always winter. For example, it was -15 degrees outside last night.



The snow has not started to melt yet. The melting of the snow will probably begin in 2 weeks. And then a lot of abandoned cars will start to show up from under the snow. Such cars are called the earliest spring flowers - snowdrops.
A holiday does not cancel the obligation to walk the dog. And today, while walking, I turned my attention to the snowdrifts, which were actually cars under the snow.



Why do cars end up in such a state? There can be many reasons. The most elementary reason is that the owner of the car does not drive a car in winter, but he does not have a garage, so the car is parked in the yard under the snow from autumn to spring.
I don't want to think about the sad fact that the owner of the car might just die. But 10-15 years ago, another reason appeared - the owner of the car went to work for a long time in the northern regions of the country, usually it is associated with oil and natural gas production.

Someone might say that I met one such similar car and made a whole novel out of a small story. But in fact, 30 meters from the first car I saw, I saw another car-snowdrift. I know that there are 3 such cars on the other side of the house. I saw them back in the fall. One car was without wheels, it was standing on bricks.
In a big city, you can see even more abandoned cars like this. They often stand parked on the street and prevent public utilities from removing snow from roads and from house territories, yards.


There are still real frosty nights and cold days ahead of us. But still, everyone's mood is already spring! Carnival begins on Monday. This is the week before Lent. Russian people love this festive week, and especially the last day of it - Forgiveness Sunday, accompanied by fun and festivities.
