Frosty walk (16pics)

Hello, my friends.

This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.

Friends, did you understand from the photo that it's freezing outside? The thermometer shows about -20 degrees Celsius. But can it really stop us? The main thing is to wear the right clothes so that it is not cold to walk in frosty weather.
Today we are continuing the Christmas holidays, but I had to show up at the client's office. And do you know, friends, why? To get a salary for the last month. I talked a little with the girls in the office, or rather with the accountants, wished them a continuation of a happy vacation and went for a walk in the area of the city square and the embankment.

Recently, in a local group of the Russian social network VKontakte, people wrote laudatory odes to the decorations of our central square and the Christmas tree. Mostly it was written by women over the age of 50. I won't even show the "jewelry" to you, friends. I'll just move on.

In Soviet times, it was the only functioning church in our city. Approximately, until the mid-90s of the last century. Then she had competitors, churches began to be restored.
Surprisingly, in our city during the Soviet era, churches were not destroyed, they were rebuilt and used by various institutions to suit their needs. For example, I worked at a large factory for the production of fur products and our finished goods warehouse was located in a large cathedral. Church services are taking place there now.
A children's sports school was organized in one of the churches of the city, a museum of local lore in another church. The men's monastery housed production workshops. The convent housed a military unit, a military medical warehouse.
Now all these churches and monasteries are used for their intended purpose.
Look, friends, the smoke is rising up. This is a sign that frosts are waiting for us ahead.

Of course, if someone is following my posts, they have already seen these churches, seen this path to the rotunda, walked with me along the embankment more than once. But it all happens a little different every time. Especially different in summer, autumn, winter and spring. Everything is even different depending on our mood.

The time is 11 o'clock in the afternoon. But our Sun does not rise high above the horizon at this time of year. And during the frost, the Sun seems to be bright, but it falls into a frosty haze.

Calm and serenity. Now it looks exactly like this. But there were times when our ancestors could only move along rivers. I read in one book how people in the North in winter rode in a sleigh along the riverbed, because there is less snow there than just in the fields. And it was at night.

It seems to me that this rotunda stands very well in this place. You can stand here for a long time and look at all this serenity.

It's still cold outside, friends. So I took a walk for about 30 minutes and returned to my car.

Well. I wish all my friends, observers, and readers wonderful walks on Wednesdays. And also on Sundays and any other day!

I add my beloved @archon community as a 5% beneficiary of the post.

I see the photos, read you and my eyes freeze 🥶. Beautiful photos, but the cold looks intense. It takes a lot of courage to go outside.

ahahah.
We are people accustomed to frost. For us -20 is not even frost. That's when -30 or even colder, then I worry about the car so that it starts.

Br... No, brrr will be in a few days. The temperature is expected to drop to -30 and even lower. It's hard to walk at this temperature, there's not enough oxygen and we can't go fast, you can get frostbite in the throat.

I love seeing snow because there's no winter in our place.

It is better to look at the snow from the side. Or just visit such places sometimes. Although. I love my native land with its changing seasons.
