Monday, 11/1/21 — Wilkerson Pass, CO — Last night was wild I guess

After a full pot of strong coffee and endless songs of love and life from that government spy named Alexa I left Denver with a full heart but also a headful of existential dread if that makes any sense.

Took 285 into the mountains and then went down Foxton Road in Conifer and past the old abandoned South Platte Hotel of Niwot's Challenge lore and all the way to 67, then to Woodland Park and 24 and now Wilkerson Pass just west of Lake George. Yeah that was definitely the long and slow way from there to here but I tend to like taking the long slow ways to and from places, they're always so much more interesting and entertaining.

It's cold here and it looks like rain/snow soon so I'm probably not even going to bother setting up my tent since I'm headed to Leadville in the morning anyway. I'll just sleep in my car. I think my car really likes it when I sleep inside it because every time I do, I wake up in the morning to find the window interiors all steamy and foggy and frosty like the car had some kind of violent spasming automotive orgasm while I was blacked out wrapped up in a sleeping bag in the front seat. I'm not sure if that's weird or not.

I'm parked at a place where irresponsible others have clearly parked before me as evidenced by all the litter left behind. Someone really needs to come clean all this shit up.

Last night was wild I guess… I don't remember eating all that pizza or drinking all that beer or blanking all that blank, but apparently I did all of that because when I woke up my phone informed me that I had definitely done it all, and also it was time for a system update.
