The Ballad of Never After- Stephanie Garber (Review)
SourceHello dear Hive community, for me it is a pleasure to come again through this medium to bring you a review about one of my latest readings, which is "The Ballad of Neverland" the sequel of "Once Upon a Time A Broken Heart" written by Stephanie Garber and here I will give you my opinion with a little Spoiler of the first book.
Hola querida comunidad de Hive, para mí es un placer venir de nuevo por este medio a traerle una reseña sobre una de mis últimas lecturas, la cual es “La Balada de Nunca Jamás” la continuación de “Erase Una Vez Un Corazón Roto” escrito por Stephanie Garber y aquí le dare mi opinión con un poco de Spoiler del primer libro.
Well, I was left with an ending that left me intrigued on most things and with a little bit of hatred for Jacks so having time book I read this story in less than a week, as I said before this is the continuation of the book so it leaves us pretty much in the same story arc, (from here on SPOILERS) of an Evangeline trying to wake up Apollo and escaping from Jacks who wants to open the Valory Arch.
Bueno, yo me quede con un final que dejar intriga en la mayor parte de las cosas y con un poquito de odio a Jacks así que teniendo tiempo libro me leí esta historia en menos de una semana, como dije antes esta es la continuación del libro así que nos deja prácticamente en el mismo arco argumental, (a partir de aquí SPOILERS) de una Evangeline intentando despertar Apolo y escapando de Jacks quien quiere abrir el Arco Valory.

As I have said several times in different places, I had a conflict with the main characters in the first book as I felt Evangeline very delusional and on the other hand also a male protagonist with quite questionable intentions towards Evangeline which did not make me fully enjoy the interaction of both in the first book and that is something that improved throughout the story and that is that we see the background of Jacks as a character and not just as a villain that the author wants to show.
Como he dicho en varias ocasiones en distintos lugares, tenía un conflicto con los protagonistas en el primer libro ya que sentía a Evangeline muy ilusa y por otro lado también a un protagonista masculino con intenciones bastantes cuestionables hacia Evangeline lo cual no me hizo disfrutar del todo la interacción de ambos en el primer libro y eso es algo que mejoro a lo largo de la historia y es que vemos el trasfondo de Jacks como personaje y no solo como villano que quiere mostrar la autora.
But let's talk about Evangeline, a pelirosa is a character that is having mental dilemmas about the situations that she presents and she was really dying in different opportunities that thanks to Jacks did not happen, but as I said this poor woman gets into situations that are difficult to get out and her intentions are distorted throughout the story.
Pero hablemos por parte Evangeline, una pelirosa es un personaje que va teniendo dilemas mentales sobre las situaciones que va presentando y es que de verdad estaba que se moría en distintas oportunidades que gracias a Jacks no paso, pero como te digo esta pobre mujer se mete en unas situaciones que le cuesta salir y sus intenciones se van distorsionando a lo largo de la historia.
SourceJacks on the other hand is not like I like him better right away, that mask he wears for people is still there, only that in certain occasions situations get out of his hands showing that he is not so inhuman and giving a very surprising result and the term skunk... I no longer see him as an insult and now it makes me sad... What things don't? But actually at the end of the story you want this boy to be happy.
Jacks por otro lado no es como que me cayera mejor de buenas a primeras, esa mascara que usa para las personas sigue estando solo que en ciertas ocasiones se va saliendo de sus manos las situaciones mostrando que no es tan inhumano y dando un resultado demasiado sorprendente y es que el termino zorrillo…ya no le veo como un insulto y ahora me da tristeza ¿Qué cosas no? Pero en realidad al final de la historia deseas que este muchacho sea feliz.
I can say that the reading is not heavy, I find it interesting that it has that touch of fairy tale and that the scenarios are different in addition to that, one as a reader feels that you know where the situation is going when in reality it is not so and goes somewhere else so this book hooks you, with beautiful scenes, sad and above all not at all expected.
Puedo decir que la lectura no es pesada, me sabe interesante que tenga ese toque de cuento de hadas y que los escenarios sean diferentes además de que, uno como lector siente que sabe para dónde va la situación cuando en realidad no es así y va es para otro lado por eso este libro te engancha, con escenas bonitas, tristes y sobre todo para nada esperadas.
SourceAnother very important thing is not to feel sorry for any character you thought was good, because no one is really good. I spent half the book thinking about a character that I felt was like a victim and in reality he is still a victim but it's not that he does good things... and in a way he is something that stands out... in the first book we had a character with these characteristics and we thought we didn't know of another similar character and now we do and surely with much more relevance. I give this story a 4.75 out of five stars and I take away that fourth because I suffered with its resolution.
Otra cosa muy importante no le tengan lastima a ningún personaje que creyeran bueno, porque nadie lo es en realidad. Yo me pase medio libro pensando en un personaje que sentía que era como una víctima y en realidad si sigue siendo una víctima pero no es que haga buenas cosas… y es que de cierta manera es algo que sobresale o sea en el primer libro teníamos un personaje con estas características y creíamos que ya no sabía otro parecido y es que si y seguramente con mucha más relevancia. A esta historia le doy un 4.75 de cinco estrellas y le quito ese cuarto porque sufrí con su resolución.
