Hi my dear friends! I can’t make my posting more or less balanced. Here puppies appeared in the house and I focused all my attention on them. But I was going to gradually tell about all the inhabitants of the house. So, today I propose to talk about our seagulls. There are five of them: Asya, Dasha, Aksakal, Hen and Dobby.

Asya was the first to appear in our house. This was our first seagull here. As a child, I often met these beautiful birds, because I grew up on the shores of the Barents Sea. My decision to take the wounded seagull was in some way a tribute to nostalgia. Although, in fact, there is nothing surprising in domestic seagull. Just like pigeons, storks and crows, these birds are synatropic birds, that is, those that live next to humans.
Having lost part of the wing, Asya did not fall into despair. She quickly got used to the new conditions and made friends with other birds.

And even more! Asya made a career as a movie star and starred in two commercials! She loves attention from people very much. Plus, she always gets a lot of delicious fish while filming!

The second seagull, Dasha, also had such a chance, but she has a different character and she refused to act. Since I treat my animals and birds with care and respect, I did not insist.

When Dasha came to us, she was in a terrible state. You can see this in the photo below. She lived in another shelter and her aviary was packed with a ferret. Several birds died, and Dasha was badly hurt.

But gradually her plumage recovered and she became a real beauty.

Our third seagull is named Aksakal. Because he is old and wise. Aksakal was brought to us by an animal rescue group. They learned about the bird from fishermen, who met a bird with a wing injury, which asked for food and was generally very sociable.

In the photo you can see that the wing hangs unnaturally. Unfortunately the injury was too old to be healed.

As for the fourth our seagull (her name is Hen), my friend found her and cured her. But she could not keep a bird in a city apartment. In addition, she is a volunteer and her home is always full of sick animals. Hen is also a very sociable bird. And she also loves pancakes 😉

The bird had a broken leg. This is a very difficult injury for birds, much worse than a wing injury. The fact is that if a bird stops walking, its food system stops functioning normally. But Hen defeated the disease. Although she still has a severe limp, she leads a normal life with other seagulls.

And finally Dobby. Dobby came to us this summer as a little chick. A lot of grief fell on the unfortunate bird. First, he lost his parents. Secondly, he had rickets and serious leg problems. But in the end we got it. When Dobby couldn't walk, I bathed him in a basin every day to train his legs.

Dobby has become the best friend of our female bunny Cookie.

Gradually, Dobby got stronger and began to walk more confidently. But in bad weather, he still walks poorly, so he cannot live on his own.
