The Half
Ingredients have always managed to attract me to their world, especially when it comes to spices and herbs. Walking in the market full of scents and colors of ingredients to use in the kitchen is my favorite.
The process of buying spices and herbs is not fast. I have to make sure of the freshness of the ingredients. Apart from that, I added fun for myself.
The way I create pleasure when shopping for spices and herbs at traditional markets is to choose a unique form of these spices and herbs. Then I will photograph them. It's really something I like. Not infrequently it makes some sellers curious about what I do.
This time I will bring to you photography of spices. I took the concept of THE HALF. I am interested in taking portraits of half parts of each object.
The objects that I photographed are mostly kitchen spices with roots. Ginger, turmeric, galangal. Also, there are red onions and tomatoes which I use as a garnish.
I was amazed by the objects that I split into two parts. It brings its own beauty to me.
Enjoy my photos.
GINGER
Warm ginger character. We can see the beautiful fiber when it is split into two parts.
The half of the ginger is embellished with the unique shape of the two sides. Like the joints of each person's fingers are different and carry their own destiny.
GALANGAL
Galangal that I found in the market is to have an attractive size. The segments form a separate side.
Galangal fiber is more than ginger. The texture is denser so it's a little harder to split than ginger. I have to be careful when cutting the galangal so that my hands are not hurt by the sharp knife.
I have to sharpen the knife first before splitting the galangal. Previously it was easy for me to slice ginger, but it takes a little effort to cut the galangal because of the more fibrous texture of the galangal.
The color of galangal also looks pinky, like a woman blushing when someone greets her beautifully. :)
Turmeric
This one object is not very attractive in terms of shape compared to the others. But this object is interesting in terms of color.
Turmeric has a bold color that is quite difficult to remove if it is attached to the skin and other materials in the kitchen.
We can rely on turmeric as a natural yellow colorant, also for delicious curry dishes. Have you ever tried curry dishes?
RED ONION
We in Indonesia are used to cooking using red onions, in addition to garlic. The inside of the red onion that doesn't look too special is due to the small size of the red onion.
But still the half of red onion we can enjoy its beauty.
TOMATO
The last one. I brought you an object that looks cute. Tomatoes, which are brightly colored, also contain many health benefits for the eyes and skin.
The half and complete, each carrying a beautiful shape. Which part do you like the most? Half or complete?
That was about some of the objects that I got from the spices that are usually used to make food delicious. I hope the photos that I share can be enjoyed by you.
Thank you for reading my blog and reblog if you want my blog this time worthy of reading by others.

At first look, I thought it was some corals or stone from the sea, when I take a good look it's a ginger. 🙂
Well, ginger playing good rules here :)
🌸
Hahaha I totally agree, and the tomatoes as well. 👏👏👏
Selalu kreatif dan menyajikan sesuatu yang berbeda. Sukses selalu sist @anggreklestari dan Happy weekend:)
Harus selalu kreatif setiap hari mba :)
Salam kreatif mba
I really like the concept you presented today. Because it is a bit unique concept. If you really think about it, even if you cut an onion exactly, it will be cut symmetrically and come out the same. There are two ways to change a bit here and there. So there are many ideas that can be taken.
That's why we have to always exploring a new way to see something different and unique

Wow! Who would have thought of that? The beauty of “the halves”. I don’t know how exactly to describe it but it’s appealing and just beautiful. The colors and shapes….I love how vivid the turmeric is. These are basic ingredients that add flavor and taste to our dishes. They are lovely by themselves as a “whole” and even when in halves. 🥰
