En esta oportunidad les presento mi punto de vista sobre la película: El exorcismo de Dios, estrenada en el año 2021 y que el pasado martes 29 de marzo de 2022 tuve la oportunidad de disfrutarla en las salas de cine de mi país.

Les confieso que tenía mucha curiosidad de verla, ya que, este largometraje estuvo bajo la conducción del Venezolano Alejandro Hidalgo y en lo particular me gustó su propuesta cinematográfica, en La casa del fin de los tiempos. La historia a mi parecer estuvo bien contada; esos giros dramáticos te mantenían pegado del asiento siguiendo la historia. Por estas razones fui movido a ver su nueva propuesta.

Ya con las expectativas altas entro a la sala de cine. Fue un reencuentro para mí con las salas de cines, pues tenía un noble tiempo sin asistir y la sensación es tan diferente, ver una película en una sala de cine te transporta con una energía totalmente distinta a la de verla en casa.

In this opportunity I present my point of view about the movie: The Exorcism of God, released in the year 2021 and that last Tuesday, March 29, 2022 I had the opportunity to enjoy it in the movie theaters of my country.

I confess that I was very curious to see it, since this feature film was directed by the Venezuelan Alejandro Hidalgo and I particularly liked his cinematographic proposal in The House at the End of Time. The story in my opinion was well told; those dramatic twists and turns kept you glued to your seat following the story. For these reasons I was moved to see his new proposal.

Already with high expectations I entered the movie theater. It was a reunion for me with the movie theaters, because I had a noble time without attending and the feeling is so different, watching a movie in a theater transports you with a totally different energy than watching it at home.

Es así que da comienzo el filme con un ritual de exorcismo que se ve truncado pues el sacerdote sucumbe a la tentación de la piel y sus deseos nublan su mente, brecha que aprovecha muy bien el demonio para entrar en el cuerpo del Padre y dar rienda suelta a su lujuria que termina en el acto sexual de la joven liberada de la posesión.

Los efectos especiales conjuntamente con los cuadros escénicos hacen de esta escena un enganche perfecto para seguir en este viaje de la historia que se dirige a 18 años después en México donde el Padre en cuestión ejerce su labor de caridad en un hogar de niños y es tratado con respeto y es recíproco por parte de sus feligreses, llegando a ser considerado como ese hombre enviado por Dios.

Un enviado de Dios que oculta un secreto y que el demonio sabrá utilizar a su favor para destruirlo y así perpetuar su reino. El demonio como era de esperarse vuelve con más fuerza y multiplicado para atacar por diversos ángulos del corazón del sacerdote dévoto a su pueblo. El demonio insaciable tortura a niñas, monjas, guardias y a un sacerdote amigo que es llamado para apoyar al Padre Peter Williams a la ardua labor de liberar el mal de los habitantes del pueblo que se ven atacados y la única salida está en la voluntad de Williams y su fe en Dios.

The film begins with an exorcism ritual that is cut short because the priest succumbs to the temptation of the skin and his desires cloud his mind, a gap that the demon takes advantage of to enter the priest's body and give free rein to his lust that ends in the sexual act of the young girl freed from possession.

The special effects in conjunction with the scenic frames make this scene a perfect hook to follow in this journey of the story that goes to 18 years later in Mexico where the Father in question exercises his charitable work in a children's home and is treated with respect and is reciprocated by his parishioners, coming to be considered as that man sent by God.

An envoy of God who hides a secret that the devil will know how to use to his advantage to destroy him and thus perpetuate his kingdom. The devil, as expected, returns with more strength and multiplied to attack his people through different angles of the heart of the Devoted Priest. The insatiable demon tortures girls, nuns, guards and a priest friend who is called to support Father Peter Williams in the arduous task of freeing the evil from the inhabitants of the town who are under attack and the only way out is in the will of Williams and his faith in God.

Las religiones representan un punto de quiebre entre el hombre y Dios. Las religiones destruyen y contaminan a los seres humanos es mi apreciación como artista. Las religiones solo sirven para albergar la oscuridad del hombre. En donde más se promueve la palabra de Dios es donde más habita el mal. En el filme puedes notar esto muy claro cuando el demonio triunfa y se esconde en el Vaticano.

Esto me pareció muy bien planteado, es una crítica a la iglesia y su intuición de cristal, negocio rentable que sirve para mantener a sus servidores como reyes, mientras en los pueblos el hambre arrasa a los niños que son el blanco perfecto de los perros que aguardan su comida cuando ya no se puedan sostener en pie. La iglesia es la verdadera casa de las serpientes y es un negocio rentable para los cuervos de oficio. Visto de este punto de vista me parece una estupenda estocada a un toro que nos ha desangrado durante años.

Religions represent a breaking point between man and God. Religions destroy and contaminate human beings is my appreciation as an artist. Religions only serve to harbor the darkness of man. Where the word of God is promoted the most is where evil dwells the most. In the film you can see this very clearly when the devil triumphs and hides in the Vatican.

This seemed to me very well raised, it is a criticism of the church and its crystal intuition, a profitable business that serves to maintain its servants as kings, while in the villages hunger ravages the children who are the perfect target for the dogs that await their food when they can no longer stand on their feet. The church is the true home of the snakes and is a profitable business for the crows by trade. Seen from this point of view it seems to me a stupendous lunge at a bull that has bled us dry for years.

Entrando en otros planos específicos, el sonido me parece en algunos momentos excesivamente alto que te desconcentra de lo que sucede y obviamente desdibujas algunas escenas que parecieran en un momento que es una película de zombies y pudiera comprender que el director se valió de muchos recursos estéticos para comunicar y en este punto como espectador recibes una sarta de emociones, estilos y formas en una propuesta estética que colinda casi en el género de lo absurdo y en lo inverosímil que podría perder seriedad en algunos instantes.

Por otro lado me pareció súper chocante que nos quieran imponer que nuestra América Latina solo será salvada por el señor de las barras y las estrellas, que no podemos enfrentar nuestras batallas y que necesitamos de un sacerdote de los Estados Unidos para salvarnos. Es fuerte seguir con esa matriz de opinión de que Superman es real y es del país que más ha jodido a nuestros pueblos, pero entiendo que esto es una estrategia de mercado, aquí solo importa cuánto vendas sin importar el errado mensaje que mandas a los jóvenes. En fin, el cine lejos de su poética y su estética honesta de producción es una industria política que obedece a un imperio.

Going into other specific plans, the sound seems to me at times excessively loud that disconnects you from what is happening and obviously blurs some scenes that seemed at one point that it is a zombie movie and I could understand that the director used many aesthetic resources to communicate and at this point as a viewer you receive a string of emotions, styles and forms in an aesthetic proposal that borders almost in the genre of the absurd and implausible that could lose seriousness in some moments.

On the other hand, I found it shocking that they want to impose on us that our Latin America will only be saved by the lord of the stars and stripes, that we cannot face our own battles and that we need a priest from the United States to save us. It is strong to continue with that matrix of opinion that Superman is real and is from the country that has screwed our people the most, but I understand that this is a market strategy, here it only matters how much you sell regardless of the wrong message you send to young people. In short, cinema, far from its poetics and its honest production aesthetics, is a political industry that obeys an empire.

Como en cada propuesta siempre existen cosas rescatables y esas que te ayudan a entender nuestra sociedad y sus hombres. Creo que el Exorcismo de Dios hace un reconocimiento al William Friedkin, “El exorcista”, con ese plano impresionante cuando baja del taxi y sabes que vas a una batalla con el mal, algo magestuoso de esta obra y que Hidalgo recrea de manera maravillosa haciendo posible un viaje a este clásico del cine.

Es importante aprender a ver más allá de la luz y entender lo que se esconde detrás de una obra de arte y cuál es su impacto en la sociedad. Como tu visión del mundo puede cambiar y destruir muros.

As in every proposal there are always redeemable things that help you understand our society and its people. I think God's Exorcism makes a recognition to William Friedkin's "The Exorcist", with that impressive shot when he gets out of the cab and you know you are going to a battle with evil, something magestuso of this work and that Hidalgo recreates in a wonderful way making possible a trip to this classic film.

Hit is important to learn to see beyond the light and understand what is hidden behind a work of art and what is its impact on society. How your vision of the world can change and destroy walls.

Este es mi punto de vista sobre el filme: El Exorcismo de Dios, espero les guste y les mueva al cine y apreciar este parte de este arte, me despido de ustedes apreciando que me regales unos minutos de tu tiempo para leerme.
