Last Sunday I visited the famous icon temple on the Bangkok river call the Wat Arun known as the Temple of Dawn by the foreigners the long version name that the Thais call this Buddhist Temple is the Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan and that is one long name would not even know how to start pronouncing this name but for the Thai's I am sure it is simply.

*This Buddhist temple is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River and is one of the most visited temples in Bangkok apart from the Bangkok Grand Palace, this Buddhist Temple was built in memory and honor of the King Taksin, who was a national hero of Thailand for bringing the country back to peace after defeating and driving out the Burmese army *

The Wat Arun temple was built in 1809 with a staggering 79 meter high central spire in the later years the temple when through a long process of renovation involving millions of man hours, it was decorated with intriguing culture carvings, inlaid with millions of colorful ceramic plates, jade, glasses, and shells. Climbing up the staircase of this 79 meter spire you will see the most stunning views over the Chao Phraya River and of a night time the temple changes colors with the many colorful lights beaming onto the four towers.
