Retomando las labores de construcción | Año nuevo habitación nueva ¡Manos a la obra! (Esp-Eng)

Cordial saludo, estimados compañeros de Hive y de la comunidad @home.solutions.

Este es mi primer post del año 2026 en la comunidad, así que vengo nuevamente a compartirles cómo van los procesos de construcción en mi casa. Algunos recordarán que tuve que hacer una pequeña pausa por el nacimiento de mi hija; ya saben, el tema del polvo, el cemento y todo lo relacionado podía afectar la salud de mi bebé. Aunque he retomado la labor, de igual forma sigo haciendo las cosas con mucha precaución para cuidar de su salud.

La última vez que publiqué referente al tema fue sobre el trabajo que realicé de vaciado de vigas de amarre. Para esta ocasión he avanzado un poco y estoy en los trabajos de relleno para posteriormente vaciar concreto para el piso. Con la ayuda de una carreta estuve llevando poco a poco a mi casa unas 20 carretadas de material de relleno hasta el frente de mi vivienda. Dicho material me tocó bajarlo, ya que mi casa queda en una pequeña bajada, entonces preferí ir acumulando el relleno frente a mi casa para posteriormente irlo pasando con baldes al lugar de relleno.

This is my first post of 2026 in the community, so I'm back again to share how the construction is going on my house. Some of you may remember that I had to take a short break after the birth of my daughter; you know, the dust, cement, and everything related to it could affect my baby's health. Although I've resumed work, I'm still taking extra precautions to protect her.

The last time I posted about this was about pouring the concrete for the tie beams. This time, I've made some progress and I'm working on the backfilling in preparation for pouring the concrete floor. With the help of a wheelbarrow, I've been gradually moving about 20 wheelbarrows of fill material to the front of my house. I had to carry the material downhill since my house is on a slight slope, so I decided to pile up the fill in front of my house and then move it with buckets to the backfilling area.

También estuve construyendo la parte de la caída en ladrillos para el techo, guiándome por el nivel que había quedado anteriormente de la caída que tiene la parte de la casa que ya está construida. Después estuve terminando una parte de la viga de amarre que me faltaba. Esta no la había terminado porque debía esperar a quitar las tablas de las otras vigas de amarre que había realizado anteriormente. Esta parte de la viga será en un futuro parte de un pequeño marco o arco de entrada a lo que posiblemente será la sala de costura para mi esposa, por lo menos hasta el momento ese es el plan.

I also worked on building the brick slope for the roof, using the existing slope of the already constructed part of the house as a guide. Then I finished the remaining section of the tie beam. I hadn't completed it yet because I had to wait to remove the boards from the other tie beams I had already built. This section of the beam will eventually form part of a small frame or archway leading to what will likely be my wife's sewing room; at least, that's the plan for now.

Por último, pero no menos importante, estuve perfeccionando los bordes de la ventana del cuarto. Esto lo realicé colocando unas tablas que están lo suficientemente derechas para poder tomar un nivel preciso y lograr que los bordes queden con un acabado muy simétrico. Esta ventana conecta con el patio trasero de la casa.

Last but not least, I was perfecting the edges of the bedroom window. I did this by placing boards that were straight enough to allow for precise leveling and ensure the edges had a very symmetrical finish. This window connects to the backyard.

Estos fueron los trabajos más recientes que he realizado en la construcción de esta segunda habitación en mi casa. El próximo trabajo será terminar de rellenar una pequeña parte en la entrada de la habitación, montar el techo, revocar, colocar la ventana, vaciar el suelo en concreto y, por último, colocar la puerta. Todavía queda trabajo por hacer, además de que, una vez que termine con la habitación, pasaré a la parte del frente de la casa o quizá continúe con el tema de la sala de costura o el segundo baño. El tiempo y la disposición monetaria nos dirán qué vamos a hacer.

These were the most recent tasks I've completed on building this second bedroom in my house. The next step will be to finish filling in a small section at the entrance, install the ceiling, plaster, install the window, pour the concrete floor, and finally, put in the door. There's still work to be done, and once I finish this bedroom, I'll move on to the front of the house, or perhaps continue with the sewing room or the second bathroom. Time and budget will determine what we do next.
