Україні потрібен фемінзм/Ukraine needs feminism (UA/EN)

Привіт, друзі.
Останні два пости були написані про дуже негативні події, які трапилися декілька днів тому. Тим не менш, ця тема знову повернула нас до важливості змін у соціумі, а саме до проблеми сексизму, який, на жаль, досі існує на теренах українського суспільства. Та все ж, не може не радувати як швидко ми можемо розповсюджувати інформацію та привертати увагу до проблеми. Цей момент є вкрай важливим за для досягнення прогресу в будь-якому питанні. Тож я щиро вірю, що поступово та частина досі упереджених мізогінією українців переглянуть свої погляди та прийдуть до правильних переконань.

The last two posts were written about very negative events that happened a few days ago. Nevertheless, this topic once again brought us back to the importance of changes in society, namely to the problem of sexism, which, unfortunately, still exists in the Ukrainian society. And yet, one can't help but be pleased with how quickly we can spread information and draw attention to the problem. This moment is extremely important for achieving progress in any matter. Therefore, I sincerely believe that gradually that part of Ukrainians still prejudiced by misogyny will revise their views and come to the right beliefs.

Як влучно сказала одна дівчина-блогерка: "Навіть всі дівчата колись проходили період мізогінії, хай була вона маловиражена чи абсолютно відкрита, та хтось виріс та усвідомив стан речей, а хтось досі продовжує жити з цими сексистськими упередженнями". І вона дійно права. Якщо задуматися, ми всі мали і досі маємо категорії мислення, насаджені патріархальною системою, яка існує уже так давно, що навіть важко сказати звідки вона бере початок. Та часи змінюються, і ідеї теж. Прогрес бере своє. Ми відмовились від більшості жахливих традицій минулого, як от рабство, шлюби за домовленістю та інші нормалізовані минулим речі. Жінки здобули права на початку 20 століття, і поступово вибороли можливість бути на рівні з чоловіками в усіх соціальних питаннях. Але це досі не зовсім рівносильно.

Жінок досі виховують бути чемними, порядними, слухняними. Коли ми одягаємо занадто короткі спідниці та фарбуємося дуже яскраво, а потім веселимося на вечірках, нам одразу ж дають різні негативні статуси по типу хвойди. А чому? Ми ведемо себе як чоловіки? Яка принципова різниця? Правильно: в тому, що в нас різні статі, і все.

As one girl blogger aptly said: "Even all girls once went through a period of misogyny, whether it was subtle or completely open, but some grew up and realized the state of things, and some still continue to live with these sexist prejudices." And she is really right. If you think about it, we all had and still have categories of thinking planted by a patriarchal system that has been around for so long that it's hard to even say where it originated. But times change, and so do ideas. Progress takes its toll. We have abandoned most of the horrible traditions of the past, such as slavery, arranged marriages, and other things that have been normalized by the past. Women gained rights at the beginning of the 20th century, and gradually won the opportunity to be on an equal footing with men in all social matters. But it is still not quite equivalent.
Women are still brought up to be polite, decent, obedient. When we wear skirts that are too short and paint too bright, and then have fun at parties, we are immediately given various negative statuses, like a hoe. Why? Are we behaving like men? What is the fundamental difference? That's right: in the fact that we have different sexes, and that's it.

Коментарі до тієї ситуації зі гвалтуванням дівчат просто огидні. "Одна з дівчат ескортниця, тому її можна гвалтувати і знімати на камеру", "Та ви їх бачили? Вони ж самі звичайні проститутки" - ось це писали величезна кількість коментаторів. І що не дивно - чоловіки. Я навіть не маю бажання говорити чому їх думки - це повне лайно. Тому скажу те, що говорила в минулому пості: треба виховувати хлопців, а не дівчат. Щоб у майбутньому таких коментарів не було, а гвалтівників тим паче.

The comments on that situation with the rape of girls are simply disgusting. "One of the girls is an escort, so she can be raped and filmed", "Have you seen them? They are ordinary prostitutes" - this is what a huge number of commentators wrote. And what is not surprising - men. I don't even want to say why their opinions are complete bullshit. Therefore, I will say what I said in the last post: it is necessary to educate boys, not girls. So that there are no such comments in the future, and even more so rapists.
