Como les había escrito en otro post la semana pasada tuvo un día feriado un jueves y por primera vez agarre un “puente”. Si no entiendes lo que esta palabra coloquial de Venezuela significa, te lo explico, es cuando un feriado cae un miércoles o jueves y las personas además de tomarse el día feriado como libre también descansan el día que sigue hasta juntarlo con el fin de semana. Por lo general la gente lo utiliza para hacer un viaje corto.
Esta vez unos amigos me invitaron a hacer un viaje a otro estado y luego de pensarlo un poco y planificarme me decidí a ir. Normalmente en mi trabajo no se respetan los feriados, como trabajamos con animales siempre debemos atenderlos. Pero como soy la gerente y era una semana de trabajo tranquila me organicé y me tomé la tarde del jueves y el viernes libre.
As I had written in another post last week had a holiday on a Thursday and for the first time I took a "bridge". If you don't understand what this colloquial word from Venezuela means, I'll explain it to you, it is when a holiday falls on a Wednesday or Thursday and people besides taking the holiday off also rest the day after to join it with the weekend. Usually people use it to take a short trip.
This time some friends invited me to take a trip to another state and after some thought and planning I decided to go. Normally in my job we don't respect holidays, as we work with animals we always have to take care of them. But since I am the manager and it was a quiet work week I got organized and took Thursday afternoon and Friday off.
El plan era salir el jueves a las 11 am de mi casa para la casa de mis amigos y de ahí emprender nuestro camino en nuestros carros. Yo terminé atrasándome un poco, tenía que dejar todo listo en el trabajo y casualmente era cierre de mes. Después que terminé el trabajo vine rápidamente a mi casa a bañarme y colocar nuestra maleta en el carro, ya la noche anterior había guardado nuestra ropa y seleccionado la que usaríamos en el viaje.
Terminamos saliendo al mediodía. Como buena conductora pasé por la estación de servicio a revisar los fluidos, los cauchos del carro y por supuesto a echar gasolina. Luego de verificar que todo estuviera perfecto salí con mi hija rumbo a casa de mi amiga. Nuestra planificación comprendía que en mi carro se irían dos personas más de la familia de Silvia, mi amiga. De ida se fue Wesley, un hijo de ella y Junior, su sobrino, este último manejaría mi carro.
The plan was to leave Thursday at 11 am from my house to my friends' house and from there we would go on our way in our cars. I ended up running a little late, I had to leave everything ready at work and it happened to be the end of the month. After I finished work I quickly came home to take a shower and put our suitcase in the car, the night before I had already packed our clothes and selected the ones we would use on the trip.
We ended up leaving at noon. As a good driver I went to the gas station to check the fluids, the tires and of course to fill up with gas. After verifying that everything was perfect, I left with my daughter to my friend's house. Our planning included that two more people from my friend Silvia's family would be in my car. Wesley, her son, and Junior, her nephew, would drive my car.
Así emprendimos nuestra nueva aventura. El camino fue tranquilo aunque había muchos huecos en la carretera. Acá en Brasil es común tener radares que fiscalizan la velocidad con la que los carros van pasando por las carreteras, por lo que veníamos pendientes para no exceder los límites de velocidad.
En el camino paramos a comer unos pastelitos que estaban muy rico, yo me comí dos, uno de carne y otro de cuatro quesos y mi hija se comió uno de carne.
So we set out on our new adventure. The road was quiet although there were many holes in the road. Here in Brazil it is common to have radars that control the speed with which the cars go through the roads, so we were very careful not to exceed the speed limits.
On the way we stopped to eat some delicious pastries, I ate two, one with meat and one with four cheeses and my daughter ate one with meat.
Llegamos a nuestro destino a las 6 de la tarde, ya casi no había sol, por aquí está anocheciendo muy temprano. Nos quedamos en casa de los suegros de mi amiga.
La casa estaba ubicada en una montaña y el clima era agradable. Con la escasa luz que había pude ver que habían muchas flores en la casa y de una vez tuve la idea de pedir unos ramitos para poder sembrar en mi casa.
We arrived at our destination at 6 pm, the sun was almost gone, it is getting dark very early around here. We stayed at my friend's in-laws' house.
The house was located on a mountain and the weather was pleasant. With the scarce light I could see that there were many flowers in the house and at once I had the idea of asking for some sprigs to plant in my house.
Aunque mi hija y yo no formamos parte de esa familia fuimos muy bien recibidas. Amanda adoptó a los señores como sus abuelos y sólo los llamaba “vó” y “vô”, que significa abuela y abuelo en portugués. Con esto termino de contarles el comienzo de mi viaje, hasta el siguiente post.
Although my daughter and I were not part of that family we were very well received. Amanda adopted the gentlemen as her grandparents and only called them "vó" and "vô", which means grandmother and grandfather in Portuguese. With this I finish telling you the beginning of my trip, until the next post.
Qué difícil es tener que trabajar todos los días y sin poder a veces darse un merecido descanso 😔, pero me alegra leer que pudiste organizarte y animarte a realizar ese viaje, creo que viajar es una de las mejores cosas que podemos hacer aunque a veces no podamos por diversas razones. Espero que se diviertan y la pasen genial. Saludos!
La pasamos muy bien gracias a Dios. Fueron unos días diferentes que me ayudaron a salir de la rutina.
Que bueno que tomaste esa precaución de hacer mantenimiento preventivo al carro antes de partir a tu viaje, excelente decisión, que bueno que llegaron bien a casa de tus amigos antes que oscureciera! 💓💖
Si, antes de viajes largos debemos tomar esas medidas para no llevarnos una sorpresa indeseada
