Arm Full of Lipstick: A Morning Swatching

I just spent an enjoyable hour swatching my lipsticks and a couple of lipglosses. My arm is covered! Hahaha!

I found 3 lipsticks I don’t like, 2 are a brand that’s drying and 1 has gone goopy. I will attempt to use them once or twice in the next week and toss if I don’t like them - which is very likely. I’ve rediscovered some great loves, and found many mehs. Overall, a (slightly) productive and fun hour.

Edited to add: I usually do swatches of my makeup every 6 months or so, whenever I get the urge to destash. I never quite manage to whittle down my collection, but it makes for an enjoyable hour or two. I have rediscovered how much I love the Covergirl formula (square lipsticks), and the single Butter London lipstick feels wonderfully…buttery, but the color is meh.

This would be a good way to test for allergic reactions; it sure would be better than your lips... right? I'm curious... is this something that you do often? Lol, I was just looking through my lipsticks and trying to destash. I do this every 6 months or so. I am continuously amazed by how creamy some of these babies are. Covergirl has an amazing formula.

I'm just here to help elevate your awesome! I was raised by women, so have a different outlook on many things lol. So many times, women's lipsticks are just plain gawdy, so what you have done is nothing to make fun of... I promise! Do you go by looks (color) or price?

I usually go by both color and price. These days, I mainly get tinted balms when on sale. $1-2 for a little tinted chapstick if you want to look at it that way. Something I’d use a few times then forget in my car, lol.
