One of the worst things about having your birthday on the 31st of December is that everyone celebrates the moment it's over. Don't ask me what age I am. I lost that battle when I ran out of fingers and toes. Just know that I am old enough to remember a world without electronic entertainment and still remember having to walk miles to school in my bare feet (ok maybe that was a dream). I still feel young and apart from a few phantom pains my body and mind are still in working order.

At present, I am still restricting my movements due to covid exposure and feel like a single parent because my wife is still in the hospital. This will be until I can prove that we don't have the plague. We had a PCR test today. What better way to celebrate a birthday than to have someone tickle your brain through your nose with a Qtip. It is all a bit surreal and the kind of ending I should have really expected to what has been a very difficult year. I will be glad to ring this one out.

You may have noticed that I have been a lot more on Hive lately. This is because of the cabin fever and Hive is giving me an escape. There is a lot to be excited about with Hive at the moment and 2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year. Airdrops of new projects will be a great start to the year and even if the whole crypto market goes down the toilet I know that Hive will still be here buzzing away and I'll still be here doing my thing.

As it comes to the end of the year I figured I should do something to mark the occasion and drop another NFT (as the cool kids say). I liked this piece when I made it, it has some great memories. When I put it up as an NFT you are not just getting the image you are getting proof of ownership of part of the actual sculpture even though it does not exist anymore. It is my way of preserving it for future generations on the Blockchain and I hope that it will get me on the NFT ladder.

You can read about the sculpture here and of course, check it out in my NFTshowroom gallery

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year and thank everyone for their support over the last year.

Oh dear, being a new year's eve baby does seem to suck a bit, well at least you can be sure that you'll always have lots of friends and family with you on your birthday. Happy (belated) birthday, and wish you and the family all the best in 2022, hopefully your wife will be back home very soon. Take care!

Thank you @livinguktaiwan. It was a quiet day, just the way I like it. I did get a surprise visit from some brothers and sisters to my door with a cake which was quite nice but mostly I was doing housework. Happy new year to you. Hope your living arrangement is comfortable and that you will soon be in a place you can call home.

New Year Baby :D Happy new birthiversary!

You would make a silly season (which for me is Solstice to New Year Day so usually Dec 21 - Jan 1) even more amazing. In my family (both biological and "adopted"/chosen) we usually have Solstice, Christmas, four birthdays (one Christmas Baby, one New Year Eve Baby, and two in between), New Year Eve and New Year Day (this one tends to be very chill because the night before is usually late even if it was chill). Near incessant celebration :D

That is a pretty cool sculpture, definitely deserves immortalisation as a nft.

Lovely birthday present with the live mummification process, hope the day/week/month/year gets better!

Wow, that is a lot of celebrations over the Christmas holidays. To be honest it was the nurse in the PCR test centre that reminded me it was my birthday when she was taking my details. I have never been big into birthdays. As johnny logan said

I caught covid too, but luckily with mild symptoms. I hope you and your wife will recover completely soon. And yes, 2021 promises to be a very interesting, exciting year! So far I have not dared to think how many opportunities N F T has. A sand sculpture is short-lived, no matter how much work you put into it. The same is true with a graffiti or landart. I personally haven’t made N F T yet. I could create one from a lot of my drawings and paintings, but I still have technical hurdles, I would need a large scanner, or a normal photographer’s cabin and lighting to take good pictures that can be printed. Well, I'm not a fan of pixel art , hahaha! I feel Hive will gradually get stronger in a long term, proving the need for value creation and decentralization.

Covid has been through my house a few times now even with vaccinations. I think everyone is getting tired of it at this point. I have not had a positive test yet for myself but I am sure I have had it at some point over the last two years. I am still as cautious as I can be to protect those around me who are vulnerable nd Hopefully, 2022 will see an end to all the fear surrounding it.

I still have my questions about NFTs and what value they really bring but Because Sand sculpture is ephemeral maybe it will be its saving grace. Things are still so early I suppose I will let the market decide.

Belated Happy Birthiday and congrats on the NFT release. I got my first NFT on Christmas day. Still getting to grips with them but i am sure we will see a lot more in 2022.

Thanks @eroche. Happy new year to you and your family. I am still getting my head around NFTs but I think they will be something I am going to explore much more in the future.
I see that you have me a plug a few weeks ago an a post and since then my posts are really getting a lot of traction with curation trails. Thank you very much for that.
