[Week 127] Weekend Experience: A creative weekend.

Draw your weekend with pen, paints, or, pencils (or digitally) draw what your weekend is all about (any weekend you have ever had) and write at least 150 words explaining your drawing, which you must photograph and post - The drawing/painting needs to be your own. You do not have to draw or paint well, the worse it is, the funnier it will be!

I would be sketching and drawing too..enjoy the journey.

It's Saturday morning, and I woke up knowing I have a lot to do, well after praying, the first thought that came to mind was laundry, yes so many dirty clothes piled up, realizing my washing machine is faulty, I decided to manually wash my clothes and of course clean my house and its surroundings.

Oh, I am hungry already, I headed right Into the kitchen.

I prepared my favorite meal which is jollof rice and fried plantain, after eating I did the dishes, had my bath, and headed to the mall, it's Saturday so I need to do some shopping for foodstuff for the upcoming week and purchase some groceries too.

It was half past 4 when I arrived home, and feeling a bit tired I decided to take a rest for about 30mins then I headed to my mini room, where I sew, as a lover of fashion and a fashion designer I decided to finish up the dress I would be rocking to church service on Sunday, as I never like to be caught unfresh.

Now it's about 9 pm, well the day is over. I had my bath and hoped for a great night.

Sunday

It's 8 am, and I am all dressed and set for church, this time with my bestie, she stays on the next street so we both head out to church.

When we came back home, we decided to do something fun for the weekend, we changed our outfits and then we took a walk to a resort downtown, and we decided to unwind.

IMG_20221111_125516.png

At this time it was evening, and we had to retire to our homes so we headed home, I got home at exactly 6 pm.

What's next? Netflix and chill of course, so I decided to see the latest movie on Netflix.

What a great way to end my weekend.

I chose this because I am a lover of art and craft. So I decided to play around today, making a rough sketch on some using pencil and drawing using a black pen

I also want to attempt this question which says;

Name change weekend You must change your real name and can choose any other first and last name you like. What would you change it to and why? Being creative and humorous is the way to go with this one. Write at least 250 words explaining your answer. For example, You change your name to, Mike Hunt - Explain why.

I want to change my name to Oyinkansola Otedola.

You had a hard time pronouncing the name right? 😆. Pardon me.

Well, the name 'Oyin' shortened is derived from the Western part of Nigeria which means 'honey' or 'sweetness'.😘
I choose to bear the name because I want to be the sweetener or honey in people's lives. I want to be someone who makes people smile and feel good, who would taste honey and frown?
This sweetness is not a literal sweetness associated with diabetes, but a figurative sweetness associated with being thoughtful toward people.

This means I make a constant effort to show personal and sincere interest in people and have a pleasant temperament, being caring and polite, and generous, complimenting others and all the sweetness I can offer.

Being sweet also implies I look sweet all the time and smell nice. Sweet things smell nice, don't they?

The name in full 'Oyinkansola' means honey drip into wealth, topping it with the last name Otedola. Oh wow!

The only Otedola Nigerians can quickly think about is a very wealthy and influential man. A humble man at that, you can read about him here so adding Otedola to my first name means enjoying the perks of wealth and influence anywhere I find myself.

The power that comes with such a name, is making things happen at the snap of my figure and being sweet at the same time.

I would love to use the power and wealth associated with my last name to help others around me, more like a philanthropist not to oppress others.

Imagine being rich and sweet at the same time. A great and beautiful sight to behold.

On this note, Can I be your Onyinkansola now and always? winks

I already knew you were Nigerian as you stated that you wanted to prepare jollof rice and plantain - it's a classic food in Nigeria, or may Eastern Nigeria.

I so loved that you took time and made a lot of efforts to going into the deets of what your weekend could look like. Art is supposed to tell a story, and you did just that.

You had a hard time pronouncing the name right?

Nope, I did not. I am Yoruba myself, and it was pretty easy...LOL!

And yes, when I say the name "Otedola," I immediately had a guess on your reason...and I laughed in advance.

Beautiful reason for wanting to use the name Oyinakansola. My question is, are you Yoruba?
