¡Hola amigos!
En esta oportunidad les vengo a compartir un poco de mi visita por el Museo de la Estampa y el Diseño, un museo dedicado principalmente a la obra de Carlos Cruz-Diez. A pesar de que vivo en Caracas no había tenido la oportunidad de ir con nadie, así que me pareció una oportunidad perfecta conocer este lugar con mi novio, había visto algunas fotos muy bonitas y tenía la curiosidad de saber si estaban trabajando actualmente y bajo que condiciones debido a la pandemia.
Para mi sorpresa es un museo que se encuentra bien conservado, con muchas obras abiertas al público, con un personal muy amable que te va presentando las obras más relevantes del artista principal que es Carlos Cruz-Diez. El piso superior está dedicado exclusivamente a sus obras y en la planta baja hay obras de otros artistas y también una pequeña tienda.
La cámara de cromosaturación fue mi obra favorita sin duda, era aquella que había visto en fotos y se veía aún mejor en persona. Es bastante sencilla la verdad, consiste en un espacio de paredes blancas con bombillos largos blancos y un filtro de color, los colores que hay son verde, rosado y azul.
Al entrar los colores son muy fuertes, pero poco a poco el ojo se va adaptando al nuevo color, también hay espacios donde dos colores se encuentran y hacen una degradación muy bonita. Para entrar a esta obra es necesario aplicarse alcohol en spray y colocarse unos protectores para los zapatos como los que usan los médicos.
El guía nos contó que este año esperan cambiar esos filtros por una tecnología más nueva ya que esos bombillos no se consiguen en la actualidad, y además es necesario renovarse para poder celebrar por todo lo alto los 25 años del museo.

This time I come to share with you a little bit of my visit to the Museum of prints and design, a museum dedicated mainly to the work of Carlos Cruz-Diez. Although I live in Caracas I had not had the opportunity to go with anyone, so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to visit this place with my boyfriend, I had seen some very nice pictures and I was curious to know if they were currently working and under what conditions due to the pandemic.
To my surprise it is a museum that is well preserved, with many works open to the public, with a very friendly staff that introduces you to the most relevant works of the main artist who is Carlos Cruz-Diez. The upper floor is dedicated exclusively to his works and on the first floor there are works by other artists and also a small store.
The chromosaturation chamber was my favorite work without a doubt, it was the one I had seen in photos and it looked even better in person. It is quite simple really, it consists of a white walled space with long white bulbs and a color filter, the colors are green, pink and blue.
When you enter the colors are very strong, but little by little the eye adapts to the new color, there are also spaces where two colors meet and make a very nice degradation. To enter this work it is necessary to apply alcohol spray and put on some shoe protectors like those used by doctors.
The guide told us that this year they hope to change those filters for a newer technology since those bulbs are not available today, and it is also necessary to renew to celebrate in style the 25th anniversary of the museum.

Justo al salir de esa obra nos encontramos con las duchas de colores, mi foto favorita fue en la roja, que es la que comparto aquí pero también hay verde y azul. También hay un laberinto de colores con unas franjas de varios tonos donde al juntarse podemos observar las combinaciones posibles.
Just outside this work of art we find the colorful showers, my favorite photo was in the red one, which is the one I share here but there are also green and blue. There is also a labyrinth of colors with stripes of various shades where when they come together we can see the possible combinations.
Otra obra que me gustó mucho es una que tiene un motor incluido que va moviendo unas líneas negras que a simple vista pareciera que generasen movimiento pero no es más que la cinética que genera el color y su ubicación, y en esto Cruz-Diez era un especialista, pues la mayoría de sus obras buscaba generar la ilusión del movimiento y también el resalte del color.
Another work that I really liked is one that has a motor included that moves some black lines that at first glance seem to generate movement but it is nothing more than the kinetics generated by the color and its location, and in this Cruz-Diez was a specialist, as most of his works sought to generate the illusion of movement and also the highlighting of color.
