Worth | Review and Opinion [ENG-ESP]

Selecting a movie by the title, the main characters and the trailer does not mean it is good; however, I decided to give Worth a chance and I was pleased. My knowledge about making a review is basic, but yes, I will leave my impressions regarding the impact of the film, since, it made me question my value schemes of life. The film Worth draws a delicate and controversial issue between the objective and subjective conception that resides in every human being, life.

Seleccionar una película por el título, los protagonistas y el trailer no significa que sea buena; sin embargo, decidí darle la oportunidad a Worth y estuve complacida. Mis conocimientos acerca de hacer una reseña son básicas, pero si, voy a dejar mis impresiones con respecto al impacto de la película, ya que, me hizo cuestionar mis esquemas valorativos de la vida. La película Worth dibuja un tema delicado y controversial entre la concepción objetiva y subjetiva que reside en todo ser humano, la vida.

The film is a biographical drama based on real events. It is well known that the direction and the script of this genre tend to be adapted to create a story where the viewer can empathize, hence my interest in being focused on a particular fact or phenomenon, on human quality. The plot of the film is based on a prestigious Washington lawyer responsible for assisting and financially compensating the families and victims of 9/11. The director, Sara Colangelo, knew how to orchestrate in a respectful way the legal reality along with the sensitive aspects that arise when giving a price on people's lives.

La cinematografía es de género drama biográfico fundamentada en hechos reales. Es bien sabido que, la dirección y el guión de este género tiende adecuarse para crear una historia donde el espectador empatiza, de ahí mi interés en estar centrada en un hecho o fenómeno particular, sobre la cualidad humana. La trama de la película se basa en un abogado prestigioso de Washington responsable de atender y subsanar económicamente a los familiares y víctimas del 11 de septiembre. La directora Sara Colangelo, supo orquestar de manera respetuosa la realidad legal a la par de aspectos sensibles que surgen al dar un precio sobre la vida de las personas.

From beginning to end, the film develops in a legal context to orient the filmgoer and simultaneously reach him or her through a series of feelings without falling into overflowing drama about an aggravating situation. The theoretical and metaphorical dialogues configure a cold narrative susceptible to opposing positions; the frames do not alter the truth of "qualifying" life, that is, the scenes show experiences that reveal the principles that take hold or weaken. The direction, I like because it does not digress; you visit the corridors of greed, need and the welfare of the other. To observe what is the human value of the moral, driven by the monetary legality to compensate the damage, has ink of aberration and discrimination; ultimately there is a thin line between these two concepts that coexist, one palpable and the other intangible.

De principio a fin, el film se desarrolla en un contexto legal para orientar al cinéfilo y simultáneamente arribar a éste por una serie de sentimientos sin caer en drama desbordado sobre una situación agravante. Los diálogos teóricos y metafóricos configuran una narrativa fría y susceptible de posiciones encontradas; los cuadros no alteran la verdad de "calificar" la vida, es decir, las escenas muestran experiencias que revelan los principios que se afianzan o se debilitan. La dirección, me gusta porque no divaga; visitas los pasillos de la codicia, la necesidad y el bienestar del otro. Observar cuál es el valor humano desde lo moral, conducido por la legalidad monetario para compensar el daño, tiene tinta de aberración y discriminación; en definitiva existe una línea delgada entre estos dos conceptos que coexisten, uno palpable y otro intangible.

The cast gives distinction and merit. Representatives of the cinema of trajectory and an overall cast make the drama a success because there is no dissatisfaction with the performances. Michael Keaton (Kenneth) embodies a calculating, objective lawyer and a man is about to discover the act of being compassionate; on the side, there is the performance of Stanley Tucci mediator or bridge of those affected and his own life; and finally, actress Amy Ryan, a strong assistant and collaborator of power, conveys fragility when touched by the plural reality. Convincing fluid performances to send a vile, grotesque and inhuman message about valuing life.

El elenco actoral otorga distinción y mérito. Representantes del cine de trayectoria y un reparto en general convierte el drama en un éxito porque no hay descontentos por las interpretaciones. Michael Keaton (Kenneth) encarna a un abogado calculador, objetivo y un hombre que está por descubrir el acto de ser compasivo; por otra parte, se encuentra la actuación de Stanley Tucci mediador o puente de los afectados y de su propia vida; y por último, la actriz Amy Ryan, una asistente fuerte y colaboradora del poder, transmite fragilidad al ser tocada por la realidad plural. Actuaciones fluidas convincentes para enviar un mensaje vil, grotesco e inhumano acerca el valorar la vida.

The scenes shot in scenarios of controlling structures, of distinction, of vulnerability, of courage and emotion; without the need to show images of tragedy to understand the internal pain, from my reason, it is complex to look and not put myself in the place of the mourners. The soundtrack, I perceived it strong and subtle character, classical instruments that bounce in the feeling of the human being tragically.

Las escenas rodadas en escenarios de estructuras controladoras, de distinción, de vulnerabilidad, de valentía y emoción; sin la necesidad de mostrar imágenes de tragedia para comprender el dolor interno, desde mi razón, es complejo mirar y no ponerme en el lugar de los dolientes. La banda sonora, la percibí de carácter fuerte y sutil, instrumentos clásicos que rebotan en el sentir del ser humano trágicamente.
