Friendly greetings dear Hivers, it is a pleasure for me to be back on AFRI-TUNES sharing with you. Last week I was not able to share to celebrate your anniversary, because many situations arose that made me post very little. But that did not take away my desire and enthusiasm to join again for week 53.

This time I'm going to interpret in an instrumental way the song suggested by the community, it's "Soso" by the Nigerian singer and composer Omah Lay, published in his album Boy Alone. This is my third participation in the community and I must say that this has been my favorite song of those I have met so far. Musically it has a wonderful mystique and I had a lot of fun playing it on the guitar.

Also this time I tried to do something different, as I wanted to play it on two guitars, recording one first and the other later. I think it worked out well, although I'm sure I'll be able to do it better later on. It's the first time I try to do this for Hive, as I always say AFRI-TUNES is so great that it always inspires me to do new things.

I really liked the lyrics of this song, it's like a loving lament, a plea to not feel pain anymore. I think I identify myself a lot, because sometimes I just want all the bad things to go away, I just want the good things to stay in me. Sometimes when bitterness invades me and sets its traps I regret it a lot, this song sounds like my thoughts in those difficult moments, where I don't feel in control of myself.

I also liked reading about Omah Lay, he is a very talented and precocious guy. I thought he was amazing with an artistic career going on and he is three years younger than me. I also liked learning about his rebellious stances against the oppressive system. That says a lot about an artist, I've always thought that public figures and celebrities have a huge responsibility to the social and political environment of their people and fans.

Well that's all for now, although I would like to tell you much more. I will say goodbye for now wishing you like my entry. See you next week.

Lyrics

Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain, pain.
Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain.
Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain away.
Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain away.

Ah, ah, all of the things dem talk, I no dey hear hear.
Try wetin I do if you no dey fear, fear, one mind dey tell me to disappear.
Soso come and help me cos I don pray, maami I don break commandment.
I can't stay for one place for God's sake, oh my dear, come take this pain way from me.
Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain away.
Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain away.

Shibiri shibiri shibiri, they are talking shit shibiri.
Water no get enemy, till you fall for oshimiri.
I poto poto my eyes, 10 shots high rise.
Touch God I cry, offshare cut my dreadlocks.

Girlie me I don pray, maami I don break commandment.
I can't stay for one place, for God's sake my bae.
Come and ginger me, only you dey fell my pains.
Give me vitamins wey go, take these pains away soso oh.

Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain away.
Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain away.
Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain away.
Soso take my pain away, soso take my pain away.

Wow... This is exceptional and outstanding performance dear @aly.squid
It gives us a lot of joy that we have people from the other side that are also able to connect to our african music. I believe this is the power of music and the joy it transmits. You did very well with the two screens blessing us with both the melody line and the chords. It was just a trial as you said but it really turned out really amazing and beautiful.

It's nice to read from you what you think and feel about the music. I may not be familiar with the songs, I don't listen to secular songs as much as I listen to gospel songs.

You played it well and it is impressive, well done.
