Sun Stars for SunThursday

Today I want to write a contribution for Uwe Lang's Sun Thursday. Just this morning I saw this contest and thought "Sun? I've got something there."

This picture was taken when I had to drive my mother-in-law's caravan to her permanent pitch on Sylt 3 weeks ago. After my first trip with such a 10 meter long gun I spent two more days with my wife on the island, without the children, just with our cameras.

This sunset was taken in Wenningstedt at the beach promenade. The goal was to reach a beautiful sun star, you can achieve this if you close the aperture as far as possible, adjust the exposure and press the shutter.

The photo is taken with the Sigma 16mm for Sony E-mount at aperture 16, 1/60 second exposed and ISO 100 (if someone wants to imitate this)

Another picture of the evening is this one, in which I put the beach grass a little bit more in the foreground. The settings are the same, but you see: the picture looks completely different.

Have fun at the competition, I am currently back on the island - now on holiday - and will teach a friend how to take pictures today. Maybe we will catch the sun again 😉
