Cabo San Roman, the northernmost point of Venezuela.

When I think of my favorite place immediately comes to my mind this place of cliffs that rises in front of the sea and receives the strong breeze of the Paraguaná Peninsula, is the Cabo de San Roman, the northernmost point of Venezuela located in the state of Falcon. The term septentrional has to do with the north, the northernmost point refers to that place on the map of Venezuela that is located further north on the map. At this point, which represents a geographical landmark that marks our land borders, I find a place that gives me peace and grandeur.

Los colores del mar, la calidez de sus aguas, los riscos que frenan el fuerte oleaje, el color del cielo tropical, las aves que lo circundan componen un lugar en el que cada vez que voy quiero quedarme y permanecer.
Es un lugar tranquilo, pero con una energía muy fuerte, un lugar para salir con las energías recargadas.

The colors of the sea, the warmth of its waters, the cliffs that stop the strong waves, the color of the tropical sky, the birds that surround it make up a place where every time I go I want to stay and stay.
It is a quiet place, but with very strong energy, a place to leave with recharged energy.

En la parte más alta del cabo se erige un faro que alerta de la cercanía con la costa a las embarcaciones que recorren esta zona del Mar Caribe. Es posible subir al faro y disfrutar la espectacular vista que esta altura nos ofrece.
Desde esta costa se divisa la isla de Aruba una colonia de los Países Bajos que tiene frontera marítima con Venezuela, por las noches sobre todo es posible apreciar las luces de sus refinerías y autopistas, incluso las ondas de emisoras de radio son posible sintonizar desde aquí.

In the highest part of the cape stands a lighthouse that alerts the boats that travel this area of the Caribbean Sea of the proximity to the coast. It is possible to climb the lighthouse and enjoy the spectacular view that this height offers.
From this coast you can see the island of Aruba, a colony of the Netherlands that has a maritime border with Venezuela, at night it is possible to see the lights of its refineries and highways, even the waves of radio stations can be tuned from here.

El cabo de San Román es un lugar apartado de ciudades y pueblos, los caseríos mas cercanos se encuentran a unos diez minutos, por ejemplo, el balneario y el caserío de pescadores de Puerto Escondido, Punta Tumatei y el pueblo de Piedras Negras. Y más allá de este existen lugares mucho menos transitados y poco conocidos como las dunas de arena desde donde podemos dejarnos rodar hasta caer en el agua.
He visitado numerosas veces estas playas con mi familia, desde niña con mis padres y hermana y luego con mis hijos y sobrinas y en una ocasión en particular en el año 2014 planificamos una visita por una semana y luego de este tiempo no queríamos irnos y terminamos quedándonos por más de 15 días.

Cabo San Roman is a place away from cities and towns, the nearest villages are about ten minutes away, for example, the resort and fishing village of Puerto Escondido, Punta Tumatei, and the town of Piedras Negras. And beyond this, there are places much less traveled and little known as the dunes from where we can let us roll until we fall into the water.
I have visited these beaches numerous times with my family, as a child with my parents and sister and then with my children and nieces and on one particular occasion in 2014 we planned a visit for a week and after this time we did not want to leave and ended up staying for more than 15 days.

En el año 1998 hubo un eclipse solar cuya máxima visibilidad en el planeta estaba dada en el cabo de San Román, por la magnitud de este eclipse que no se ha repetido, la zona se llenó de campamentos de científicos de todas partes del mundo que se instalaron con sus maravillosos equipos para realizar observaciones de este fenómeno natural. Tuve la oportunidad de disfrutarlo en primera fila, fue una experiencia única, mientras el sol estaba oculto por la luna, durante esos cortos minutos me metí al mar, nadé me sumergí y sentí como las mareas cambiaban de acuerdo a lo que estaba ocurriendo con la luna y el sol.

In 1998 there was a solar eclipse whose maximum visibility on the planet was given in Cape San Roman, by the magnitude of this eclipse that has not been repeated, the area was filled with camps of scientists from all over the world who settled with their wonderful equipment to make observations of this natural phenomenon. I had the opportunity to enjoy it in the front row, it was a unique experience, while the sun was hidden by the moon, during those short minutes I went into the sea, I swam, I submerged and I felt how the tides changed according to what was happening with the moon and the sun.

Espero volver muy pronto al cabo de San Román con suficientes días para hacer de todo, desde acostarme a leer un libro en una hamaca, mirar las estrellas por la noche, comer mucho pescado, langosta y pulpo, nadar, pescar, hacer snorkel y disfrutar todas las aventuras que se nos ocurran.
