Fab Four + Aimless + Fog of War | Battle Mage Secrets X Splinterlsnds
Hello guys, I hope you all are doing well today.
Today, I will show you a battle that is sure to grab some attention for the tactical prowess and a planned attack with rules that restrict 2 monster placements. Moreover, this was a battle in a tournament where I was placed 34th. I was so close to getting into the 25th place if I hadn't lost a battle.
Without further ado, let's begin.
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 23 and there are 5 summoners to choose from: Fire, Water, Nature, Death, and Dragon. A death summoner is most suitable in such a low mana cap since I got the best monsters for the task.
Battle Rules
- Fab Four: Upto four units can be used.
- Aimless: All monsters have the Scattershot ability
- Fog of War: Monsters lose the sneak, snipe, and opportunity abilities.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and magic damage for all enemy monsters).
Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns).
Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach).
Ranged Attackers: Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike).
My strategy was to attack the enemy's deck from the front only. That way, since it was a lot of mana cap battles his monsters would be cut down one by one even if it was a monster with high HP. If he had 4 monsters with low HP, I would still cut down his monsters one by one since they would have low HP.
My overall damage output is 7. Adding in the damage from thorns, it comes to a total of 9 per round.
Now, for the opposition:
Summoner: Obsidian(Ability: Increase in magic damage by 1 for ally monsters).
Tank: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr).
Blocked Melee attacker: Grund(Ability: Double Strike*).
Magic Attackers: Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank Heal).
His strategy was to have his blocked melee attacker get the martyr effect and have the highest damage output possible while being healed by the Goblin. That way, he would have a high dominance over the battle.
His overall damage is 8 and a hearing of 2. Adding in the damage from the martyr effect, it comes to 10 damage per round.
Major Events
He got what he wanted, my Windeku smashes his Marksrat, and his Grund gets the martyr effect, and hence his attack reaches the maximum.
My Stalker eliminates his Goblin and thus cuts off his healing aspect.
His Grund gets eliminated by my Stalker so he couldn't finish my tank. Therefore, I had a clean victory.
Results
I honestly thought that his monsters would topple mine since his overall damage was significantly higher than mine and also that he had a healer. As soon as his healer fell, the game was but a simple protest rather than a battle. After a little wait of 2 rounds, the game was won.
