Hoy ha sido uno de esos días impensables. Me levanté muy temprano y cómo de costumbre fui a tomar mi teléfono, pero para mí desagradable sorpresa mis mensajes de Whatsapp no salían del buzón. Pensé que era un problema con mi conexión de internet, pero luego de reiniciar mi router una y otra vez, todo seguía igual. Cuando me di cuenta de que otras páginas abrían, supuse que el problema lo tenía la aplicación. Me sorprendí al entrar a Twitter y enterarme de que las plataformas digitales más grandes del mundo estaban caídas.

I thought it was a problem with my internet connection, but after rebooting my router over and over again, everything remained the same. When I realized that other pages were opening, I assumed that the problem was with the application. I was surprised to get on Twitter and learn that the world's largest digital platforms were down.

Sin duda, estaba prácticamente incomunicado dado a que gran parte de mi familia usa el Facebook y el Whatsapp. Además, pude comunicarme muy poco con algunos familiares en el extranjero pues poco conozco sobre telegram y skype. Ese es el problema cuando te acostumbras a un puñado de redes sociales solo porque son “la onda del momento”. Y para completar el asunto, tampoco podía abrir mi Gmail ni siquiera para mirar algunos reportes que me habían enviado del trabajo, ¡menudo día!

Creo que, lo que sucedió hoy nos sirve de ejemplo para alejarnos un poco de las habituales plataformas digitales de siempre; o sea, hay muchas otras que son igual de buenas e interesantes: reditt, twitter e incluso Hive son lugares donde podemos interactuar incluso de una manera más libre que en Facebook o Instagram. No debemos atarnos a algo solo porque sea el “boom” del momento porque cuando haga falta, caeremos junto con todo los que nos ilusionó y emocionó durante mucho tiempo.

Salgamos de ese rincón digital en el que habitualmente convivimos y, encontremos alternativas que también son interesantes. En mi caso particular, ya no las veré de la misma forma que antes, más bien, echaré un vistazo a otras redes sociales que son igual de buenas e incluso mejores. Ja, ya no me pasará lo mismo.
