After a long absence, I return to write on @beeber's ecency discord topic. I always enjoy weekly ecency discord topics because they are very interesting, and I want to write about them every week. So this week's topic is SECURITY, which is critical for anyone who works online. Security is one of the most important aspects of life because it saves you from many difficulties and losses.

BE CAUTIOUS OF YOUR ACCOUNT

This is a critical topic, particularly for those who engage in online activities. Especially for Hivians, account stealing has become very easy, as we have witnessed. This platform is obviously a type of online earning for all Hivians, and some use it to cover their household expenses. Which some interpret as their job, and they also invest in HIVE to generate passive income or to increase their income ratio. Because you have invested and it is your job, you must be cautious of your account and implement strong security measures to keep it secure.

Unfortunately, hackers have such advanced technologies that they can easily steal any account. Storing your passwords and keys online has also become a big risk, and they're getting there. Some people have stored their HIVE key in Yahoo, Gmail, Google authenticator, and Drives, but they are all still unsafe. Hackers can easily gain access to these locations and steal your account, causing you to lose all of your assets. I believe the best place to store your key is offline, which means you can print it out or store it in any USB drive that is not used for any kind of transaction.

KEEP YOUR SECURITY SECRET

To begin, when my account was less valuable, I used to keep my keys in my gmail drive and simply copy and paste whenever I needed them. However, I have seen many people whose accounts were stolen and their passwords were stored in their online drives, so I decided to change the location of my password storage. I'm going to keep the location of where I kept my security password a secret because hackers are active and read every post about security.

How can we reduce this type of hacking? The visible wallet is the first thing hackers look for. First, they look at your wallet to see how much HIVE you have and which continent you are from. They look for people who are uneducated and have little knowledge of password security. There are people who do not care about security even if they have a large amount of HIVE because they do not understand the value of security. These users are being hacked and their assets are being stolen.

DO YOU THINK OUR HIVE WALLET SHOULD BE HIDDEN?

I have not encountered anyone whose account I am aware has been stolen. However, I have received numerous complaints on the platform that their accounts have been hacked and their funds have been drained. I saw on the Hivewatchers list that people are filing complaints about the suspension of their accounts, but there is no way to restore them. As a result, we must all prioritise security, which can protect us from many losses. In this platform, I have suggested that there be an update that makes our accounts private. No one else can see how many hives we have or how much money we have in our account.
