Continuando con más de mi historia como mamá durante estos casi 16 años, creo que le quitaré una palabra a mi título ya que no es casi, ya son 16 años desde el pasado 20 de este mes.

Continuing with more of my story as a mom during these almost 16 years, I think I'll take a word off my title since it's not almost, it's 16 years since last 20th of this month was the 20th of this month.

En mi anterior post dije que mi médico de cabecera había escuchado 2 latidos y sospechaba que estaba embarazada de gemelos y me mandó a hacer una ecografía.

In my previous post I left off that my attending physician had heard 2 heartbeats and suspected I was pregnant with twins and sent me for an ultrasound.

Por supuesto pedí cita para la ecografía al día siguiente ya que todos estábamos impacientes esperando los resultados.

Of course I made an appointment for the ultrasound the next day as we were all impatient waiting for the results.

Me dieron la cita para el día siguiente por la tarde, recuerdo que fuimos todos, mis 2 hijos Yohanny y José Manuel no podían perderse ese momento, mi marido y mi cuñada ya que ella tampoco quería perderse ese momento, obviamente no entrarían todos conmigo a la ecografía ya que en la sala de espera había una pantalla donde se podía ver y escuchar todo lo que pasaba en la ecografía y ellos podían verlo al mismo tiempo que yo.

They gave me the appointment for the next day in the afternoon, I remember that we all went, my 2 children Yohanny and Jose Manuel could not miss that moment, my husband and my sister-in-law since she did not want to miss that moment either, obviously they would not all go in with me to the ultrasound since in the waiting room there was a screen where you could see and hear everything that was happening in the ultrasound and they could see it at the same time as me.

Pues bien, llegó mi turno y tuve que entrar sola ya que me llamaron y mi marido estaba estacionado el auto y no le dio tiempo a entrar, pero llegó a tiempo de verlo fuera en la sala de espera con mis hijos y mi cuñada.

Well, my turn came and I had to go in alone since they called me and my husband was parked in the car and did not have time to go in, but I did get there in time to see him outside in the waiting room with my children and my sister-in-law.

Les cuento que estaba un poco asustada en el momento de la ecografía.

I tell you that I was a little scared at the time of the ultrasound.

Bueno el doctor comenzó a examinarme y efectivamente se escuchaban los 2 latidos, pero era un solo bebé, era la forma en que estaba posicionado el bebé lo que hacía que se escucharan esos 2 latidos, era como una especie de eco uuufff; el bebé estaba en posición transversal es decir, ubicado horizontalmente en el útero, en vez de verticalmente, en esta posición la espalda del bebé se puede ubicar de las siguientes maneras: Hacia abajo, hacia el canal del parto o con un hombro mirando hacia el canal del parto.

Well the doctor began to examine me and indeed you could hear the 2 heartbeats, but it was only one baby, it was the way the baby was positioned that made you hear those 2 heartbeats, it was like a kind of echo uuufff; the baby was in a transverse position that is, located horizontally in the uterus, instead of vertically, in this position the baby's back can be located in the following ways: Downwards, towards the birth canal or with one shoulder facing the birth canal.

Entonces comenzó la travesía para ver el sexo del bebé ya que por la posición que tenía era un poco difícil de visualizar, por la posición del bebé el doctor me dijo que me colocara en posición de perrito en cuatro patas y adivinen que guindo su cosita y me dijo que era un niño, noticia que no le gustó mucho a mi hijo José Manuel ya que el quería una hermanita, me dice mi cuñada, ya que yo no estaba con ellos que le cayó como un balde de agua fría, de la rabia José vomitó, le cayó muy mal la noticia.

Then began the journey to see the sex of the baby since the position he had was a little difficult to visualize, by the position of the baby the doctor told me to place me in doggy position on all fours and guess what his little thing guindo and told me it was a boy, news that did not like much to my son Jose Manuel as he wanted a little sister, my sister-in-law tells me, since I was not with them that fell like a bucket of cold water of rage Jose vomit fell very bad news.

Pero gracias a Dios poco a poco lo asimiló y aceptó a su hermanito con el que jugaría y compartiría sus juguetes.

But thank God little by little he assimilated it and accepted his little brother with whom he would play and share his toys.
