#RockClassics - 25 years of Sehnsucht

Hi,

today for #RockClassics, by @uwelang, I have to mention an album that made history, namely Sehnsucht by Rammstein, which was released 25 years ago, exactly on this date.

It was the album, which brought Rammstein worldwide recognition, and gave them the strength to continue to produce in German language.

The texts are shocking, at least said, but this they form of art expression, and at least art has to be free.

They are not political correct, and the lyrics on this album are not making any exception.

It has some world know songs, like the marriage proposal Du hast, yes it is a marriage proposal, where the one asked says no, in the end.

Besides this, it plays with the German word hast, which means hate and have in the same word, depending on the context.

Or for Bück dich they had to go to jail in the USA for a night after a concert, as some found it to obscene. It is obscene, but this Rammstein

Rammstein is part of the music wave known as Neue Deutsche Härte, which is mostly performed in German.

Sometimes, they are accused of right wing extremism, only because of the hard and masculine sound. Rammstein declined it, and has released some songs that are fully against any right-wing movement.

The song themes are social ones, where people try to hide them, but they are here, present with the dark side in almost every one of us.

This was Sehnsucht. Happy listening!
