#AskLeo - Would you move to another part of the globe?

Hi,

today I had a discussion with a partner about a potential step for the future. As there is potential for earning a multiple of what I'm earning now, I might have to move to another part of the globe.

So, for today's #AskLeo the question would be if you would move to another part of the world for financial gains and probably a better life.

As I do on the most question, will answer first and give feedback from my own perspective, which may not be applicable to anyone, and it might also be bluntly wrong.

So, for me it is definitely a yes. I would and probably will in the near future. Why? Because of the benefits gained. I did it before, and it was for the better. I lived and by living there are 6 months at least for a stay in 4 different countries on two different countries.

Do I regret it? No, as my universe has been expanded. Did I lose something on the way? Of course, some relationship that was not worth it. The thing is, that true friends are there, they call me and still think of me on opportunities. Family is still there when I need them, even if the distance is higher, but now, most points on the globe can be reached within a day.

There might be a follow up post on this idea where I say that I move. I won't say where, as we moved this year once, and might do it again.

So, would you move to improve your finances and your life?

Nice question. The answer is a definite yes. Everybody needs a good life and when an opportunity presents itself for it tonne actualised the individual will definitely take it up. It is a no brainer.

When you change environment there is a tendency to lose one or two connections, relationships, etc but the financial gains and the good life thereafter outway these inconveniences. The world is now a global village. Relationships and connections can be maintained no matter the distance these days.

Exactly. I regularly talk with Hungarian friends in Spain, and I also think (and even plan) to move to Spain over time.

We also talk to the whole globe on the Hive blockchain.

Although the physical contact still has its own limits. I mean that we cannot teleport to the other side of the planet. We have to travel.

the whole world is our playground. Go where you are treated well (and weather and food is good :D )

(Edited)

Maybe the "playground" is not the best word (I would rather say "home"), but I agree with what you are saying.

It all depends on your personal circumstances and ability to adjust to foreign cultures, as well as how bad the situation gets in your home country. I think a lot of people are considering moving these days given all the global turmoil. El Salvador, anyone?

I am from Hungary. Or as some people recently started to say "the North Korea of Europe".

Maybe if I had money I would have a second home somewhere warm to live when it is winter here and then come back in the summer.

If it improved my finances AND my life...maybe/probably. If it just improved one or the other... probably not.

I've done it before and will probably do it again. Will definitely choose carefully before actually moving. A country that respects fundamental freedoms is more valuable to me than one "that pays better".

Lieber Alex,

Raffi

Great question and a clear YES from me.

I travel since many many years and since a while as well with my family. So, there are many damn nice places where climate and living conditions are nice.

The whole world of crypto is another story and I know many people who did a move already, Let's see what the future brings to me.
