I Saved a Sheep! - Ho Salvato una Pecora!

Hello everyone, today I am going to tell you about an adventure with a happy ending that I had last week.
I was walking in the woods, looking at the best angle to take some pictures, when I noticed something strange near a tree.
It took me a few seconds to realize it was a sheep.
He was motionless watching me and did not move, I sensed that something was wrong...he had a hoof wedged between two trunks, he could not free himself and my worry is that he had fractured a leg.
Checking carefully it seemed to me that it was not broken, but it was evident that it had been stuck for many hours, it was all dirty with excrement.
Luck has it that after a few moments a hiker passed by who hadn't noticed the sheep, so I asked him for help to try to free it.

He tried to remove the hoof and I tried to widen the trunks blocked him.

After a while we succeeded!

The sheep was in shock as it could not place the exo on the bent front legs. It had to recirculate the blood, the paw that was blocked was atrophied.

I was afraid he would get hurt, because the ground was sloping.

The hiker decided to go in search of the owner who according to him should not have been very far.

So I decided to photograph the code printed on the plate attached to the sheep's ear and call the carabinieri (police).
They put me in contact with the firefighters who, after a search through the code, reached the owner of the sheep who, thanks to my description, managed to identify and recover it.

I'm not telling you how happy I was.
If I hadn't noticed that the sheep was there, he would have suffered a great deal or even died.

One thing I discovered thanks to this experience is that in Italy if you call the carabinieri for an emergency, they see your position in real time thanks to the GPS of your smartphone!

I did not know and it is something that I find very useful!

Ciao a tutti, oggi vi racconto un'avventura con lieto fine che ho avuto la scorsa settimana.
Stavo passeggiando in bosco scrutando l'angolo migliore per fare qualche foto, quando mi sono accorto di qualcosa di strano vicino ad un albero.
Ci ho messo qualche secondo a realizzare che si trattava di una pecora.
Era immobile che mi osservava, avevo intuito che qualcosa non andava...mi sono avvicinato piano per non spaventarla e mi sono accorto che aveva uno zoccolo incastrato tra due tronchi, non poteva liberarsi e la mia preoccupazione è che si fosse fratturata una zampa cercando di liberarsi.
Controllando accuratamente mi sembrava non fosse rotta, però era evidente che era incastrata da molte ore, era tutta sporca di escrementi.
Fortuna vuole che dopo pochi attimi è passato lì vicino un escursionista che non si era accorto della pecora, così gli ho chiesto aiuto per provare a liberla.

Lui doveva sfilare lo zoccolo e io allargare i tronchi che lo bloccavano.

Dopo poco ci siamo riusciti!

La pecora era sotto shock perchè non riusciva ad appoggiare il peso sulle zampe anteriori che si piegavano. Doveva ricominciare a circolare il sangue nella zampa, dopo tutte quelle ore si era atrofizzata.

Avevo paura si facesse male, perchè il terreno era in pendenza.

L'escursionista decise di andare in cerca del proprietario che secondo lui non doveva essere molto distante.

Io ho deciso di non perdere tempo così ho fotografato il codice stampato sulla targa attaccata all'orecchio della pecora e ho chiamato i carabinieri.
Loro mi hanno messo in contatto con i vigili del fuoco i quali dopo una ricerca tramite il codice che avevo fotografato, hanno raggiunto il proprietario della pecora che grazie alla mia descrizione è riuscito ad individuarla e recuperarla.

Non vi dico che contento che ero.
Se non mi fossi accorto che la pecora era lì, avrebbe sofferto tantissimo o addirittura sarebbe morta.

Una cosa che ho scoperto grazie a questa esperienza è che in Italia se per un'emergenza chiamate i carabinieri, loro vedono la vostra posizione in tempo reale grazie al gps dello smartphone e quindi possono intervenire con precisione.

Non lo sapevo ed è una cosa che trovo utilissima!
