Exploring the surroundings of San Martino di Castrozza, Trentino Alto Adige - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Hi everyone, today it's raining so no excursions!
So here I am to tell you about an exploratory tour in San Martino di Castrozza and surroundings, in the province of Trento that I did a couple of weeks ago.

It was Saturday and I had decided to take my parents to the mountains and why not, even have a picnic.

Allora eccomi qui a raccontarvi di un giro esplorativo a San Martino di Castrozza e dintorni, in provincia di Trento che ho fatto un paio di settimane fa.

Era sabato e avevo deciso di portare i miei genitori in montagna e perchè no, anche fare un picnic.

Unfortunately there was a lot of wind and we struggled a bit to find a sheltered place to have lunch.
At one point we found a place near a forest and some trunks.

It was perfect, we were sheltered from the wind and it was great.

Purtroppo c'era molto vento e abbiamo faticato un po' a trovare un posto protetto per pranzare.
Ad un certo punto abbiamo trovato un posto vicino ad un bosco e dei tronchi.

Era perfetto, eravamo a riparo dal vento e si stava benissimo.

The nearby forest was so inviting that we decided not to go straight to the center of San Martino di Castrozza but to walk in that peripheral forest.

Il bosco lì vicino era talmente invitante che abbiamo deciso di non andare subito verso il centro di San Martino di Castrozza ma di camminare in quel bosco periferico.

It was slightly downhill and it was just beautiful, with tall fir trees and a nice green moss forming a natural carpet.

Era leggermente in discesa ed era proprio bello, con gli alti abeti e un bel muscio verde a formare un tappeto naturale.

Wow, when I walk in woods like this I feel the air very clean, the difference is clear from the air I breathe in the city!

Caspita, quando cammino in boschi come questo sento l'aria pulitissima, è netta la differenza con l'aria che respiro in città!

To embellish the walk there was also some stream that crossed the path.

Ad impreziosire la camminata c'era anche qualche ruscello che attraversava il sentiero.

Continuing I could have reached Siror, I think I saw some photos on the internet and I think it's a nice place, I'll go there.

Proseguendo avrei potuto raggiungere Siror, credo di aver visto delle foto in internet e penso sia un bel posto, ci andrò.

Continuing a little longer, the path continues among very suggestive dry stone walls.

Proseguendo ancora un po' il sentiero prosegue tra muri a secco molto suggestivi.

I didn't plan to go down to Siror, so I drew on all my willpower to go back and continue by car to the center of San Martino di Castrozza.

Non avevo in programma di scendere verso Siror, quindi ho attinto a tutta la mia forza di volontà per tornare indietro per proseguire in macchina verso il centro di San Martino di Castrozza.

Ten minutes by car and I had already parked near the Rio Brentella lake.
There was still snow and I don't need to describe the landscape to you...

Dieci minuti di auto e avevo già parcheggiato vicino al laghetto del Rio Brentella.
C'era ancora neve e il paesaggio non serve che io ve lo descriva...

We were surrounded by mountains, a feast for the eyes, but there was a cold wind, considering that San Martino di Castrozza is located at 1487 meters above sea level.

Eravamo circondati dalle montagne, uno spettacolo per gli occhi, però c'era vento freddo, considerate che San Martino di Castrozza si trova a 1487 metri di altitudine.

Near this small lake there is a nice equipped area with games for children and comfortable wooden seats.

Nei pressi di questo piccolo laghetto c'è una bella area attrezza con giochi per bambini e comode sedute di legno.

We have decided to walk along the road and have discovered numerous itineraries that we would like to do when it is warmer.

Abbiamo deciso di camminare lungo la strada e abbiamo scoperto numerosi itinerari che ci piacerebbe fare quando sarà più caldo.

Look at what a beautiful chain of mountains, I can't wait for good weather to explore them!
