Una de mis últimas experiencias que ha sido muy significativa y me ha mostrado una gran enseñanza, fue la que tuve con los jóvenes privados de libertad y los que tenían libertad asistida.

Mi hijo tenía unos 5 años cuando fuimos sorprendidos por tres adolescentes que entraron a nuestra casa y nos robaron, fue muy impactante ver que eran solo jóvenes, incluso menores de edad que no tenían más de 15 a 16 años.

En mi mente me preguntaba como siendo tan jóvenes ya eran capaces de manejar armas y hacer tales acciones. Fue unos 3 años después cuando me trasladé a otra ciudad y una de las propuestas de trabajo era atender precisamente a los adolescentes que habían cometido delitos y estaban en albergues, así como a los que estaban supervisados y tenían libertad condicional.

Creo que el acompañamiento que hice con ellos fue realmente una oportunidad para mí, el hecho de estar cerca de ellos y poder hablar con ellos y escuchar sus pensamientos fue una gran oportunidad y un gran regalo para obtener respuestas a las preguntas que tenía sobre estos jóvenes que estaban involucrados en este tipo de acciones.

Uno de los primeros puntos en común de estos jóvenes fue principalmente el entorno, es decir, dónde vivían, cómo habían crecido y el estilo de vida que les rodeaba.

Cuando les preguntaba cómo habían llegado a realizar estas acciones en la mayoría de los casos siempre había un adulto o guía que les inducía y entrenaba para realizar los robos o delitos.

Incluso los que estaban en albergues o centros de reclusión, en su mayoría varios de sus familiares, padres, primos, tíos ya estaban en prisión como tales.

Comencé preguntándoles por su infancia y me contaron que habían crecido rodeados de armas, objetos robados, incluso era algo natural, me contaron que jugaban con las armas y las usaban como una especie de silbato o flauta con la que hacían sonidos y se divertían.

Otros casos en los que se fomentaban estas conductas delictivas era el hecho de haber sido víctimas de abandono, maltrato, uno de los jóvenes me contaba como sus abuelos lo colgaban atado a una cuerda como castigo.

Es aquí donde surge la pregunta de qué tipo de persona o personalidad puede surgir de este tipo de acciones.

Otro aspecto que me llamó la atención fue el hecho de que hubo varios casos en los que los jóvenes presentaban características de ser sobreprotegidos, esto fue muy significativo ya que los sobreprotegidos suelen ser muy sugestionable ya que no están acostumbrados a tomar decisiones por sí mismos, por lo tanto pueden ser fácilmente manejados por otros.

Pude conocer sus sistemas de creencias, sus valores, cómo se relacionaban con sus pandillas, cómo establecían sus acuerdos y leyes y las cosas que eran valiosas para ellos. La poca importancia que le daban al hecho de vivir, incluso sabían que su destino o su camino era corto y por ello el hecho de no importarles lo que el otro piense o sienta. Esa acción delictiva era vista más como una labor o un trabajo que les permitía mantenerse o ayudar a su familia.

Esta experiencia me permitió entenderlos y perdonarlos y pensar en mi parte de responsabilidad en esta realidad, cuanto cuidamos a los niños, cuanto velamos por su seguridad, su bienestar, su sano crecimiento, los niños de hoy son los adultos del mañana, como viven, así serán.

Duele un poco pensarlo, pero creo que lo mejor que podemos hacer es pensar bien de todos, no hacer juicios y conectarnos con lo que está más allá de las circunstancias, las apariencias y las acciones, sobre todo de aquellas mentes confusas producto de una sociedad donde estamos divididos en clases y niveles de conciencia.

Creo que en la medida que cada uno de nosotros elevemos nuestra conciencia, con pensamientos y acciones amorosas, de unidad, de hermandad, podemos ser luz en aquellos lugares donde hay oscuridad y despertar esa conciencia que permite que nuestras acciones, nuestro pensamiento y nuestra vida vayan hacia una mayor rectitud, equilibrio y respeto por todos y por mí mismo.

No es una tarea fácil ser capaz de entender a los demás y dejar de lado el pensamiento de que esta situación, o esta persona, o esta comunidad no tiene nada que ver conmigo, creo que todos tenemos que ver con los demás y lo que le pasa a uno, o afecta a uno, nos afecta a todos.

Uno de los jóvenes durante una de las sesiones, a modo de broma, me dijo que había asesinado a su hermano.

Todos los demás chicos se sorprendieron e hicieron comentarios. En ese momento estaba definitivamente conectada con mi espíritu, con mi Ser, ya que mis palabras eran con total naturalidad y le dije que para mí no era nada sorprendente.

Mi conclusión es que podemos hacer grandes cambios en nuestro mundo y en nuestra sociedad, somos seres con conciencia, con energía, con poder ilimitado. Solo nos hemos desviado y separado de este concepto de que todos somos parte de este planeta, de esta tierra, empecemos a ver al otro como parte de mí y a pensar en el otro como me gustaría que pensaran en mí y a tratar al otro como me gustaría que me trataran, nos sorprenderíamos de las cosas que podríamos lograr, no es un cuento de hadas.

Es cierto que debemos saber que puede haber personas que podríamos llamar desalmadas, que tienen un propósito para que sigamos creyendo en ese aspecto malévolo. Es por ello que son capaces de hacer acciones atroces, entendiendo que sólo sin alma se pueden hacer tales acciones. Esto lo entendí gracias a esta experiencia que viví directamente con estos jóvenes y adolescentes.

One of the first commonalities that made this possible in these young people was mainly the environment, i.e. where they lived, how they had grown up and the lifestyle that surrounded them.

When I asked them how they had come to perform these actions in most cases there was always an adult or guide who induced and trained them to perform the thefts or crimes.

Even those who were in shelters or detention centers, for the most part several of their relatives, parents, cousins, uncles were already in prison as such.

I began by asking them about their childhood and they told me that they had grown up surrounded by weapons, stolen objects, it was even something natural, they told me that they played with weapons and used them as a kind of whistle or flute with which they made sounds and had fun.

Other cases in which these criminal behaviors were encouraged was the fact of having been victims of abandonment, mistreatment, one of the youngsters told me how his grandparents used to hang him tied to a rope as a punishment.

It is here where the question arises as to what type of person or personality can emerge from this type of actions.

Another aspect that caught my attention was the fact that there were several cases in which the young people presented characteristics of being overprotected, this was very significant since the overprotected tend to be very suggestible as they are not used to making decisions for themselves, therefore they can be easily managed by others.

I was able to learn about their belief systems, their values, how they related to their gangs, how they established their agreements and laws and the things that were valuable to them. The little importance they gave to the fact of living, they even knew that their destiny or their path was short and therefore the fact of not caring about what the other thinks or feels. That criminal action was seen more as a labor or a job that allowed them to support themselves or help their family.

This experience allowed me to understand and forgive them and to think about my part of responsibility in this reality, how much we care for the children, how much we watch over their safety, their well-being, their healthy growth, the children of today are the adults of tomorrow, as they live, so will they be.

It hurts a little to think about it, but I believe that the best thing we can do is to think well of everyone, not to make judgments and connect with what is beyond the circumstances, appearances and actions, especially those confused minds product of a society where we are divided into classes and levels of consciousness.

I believe that to the extent that each of us raise our consciousness, with loving thoughts and actions, of unity, of brotherhood,we can be light in those places where there is darkness and awaken that consciousness that allows our actions, our thinking and our life to go towards a greater righteousness, balance and respect for all and for myself.

It is not an easy task to be able to understand others and to put aside the thought that this situation, or this person, or this community has nothing to do with me, I believe that we all have to do with each other and what happens to one, or affects one, affects us all.

One of the young men during one of the sessions, as a joke, told me that he had murdered his brother.

All the other kids were surprised and made comments. At that moment I was definitely connected with my spirit, with my Self, as my words were with total naturalness and I told him that for me it was nothing surprising.

I understood this thanks to this experience that I lived directly with these young people and teenagers.
