OPEN - Handmade drawing with watercolors, markers and stylograph [Eng - Esp]

Hello again my dear friends, in this post I present the drawing made to fulfill the twenty-second day of Inktober 2021.

The theme of the 22nd was the word OPEN, and everyone knows what OPEN means, at first I had a little doubt to see what I was going to do, but in the end I did what I show you below.

Hola nuevamente mis estimados amigos, en esta publicación les presento el dibujo hecho para cumplir con el día ventidos (22) del Inktober 2021.

_{Como dato curioso te comento que este dibujo fue hecho el día 19 de noviembre de 2021, lo que quiere decir que al momento de hacer el dibujo ya estaba retrasado con la lista.}

El tema del día 22 era la palabra en inglés OPEN, y todos saben que significa ABIERTO, al principio tuve un poco de dudas para ver que iba a hacer, pero al final hice lo que les muestro a continuación.

CREATIVE PROCESS:

The Sketch: I always start with a sketch, for me it is essential to do it since it helps me a lot with the proportions and the definition of the elements within the drawing.

In this photo you can see how I made the sketch for the girl's face and hand, I think getting the fingers right was one of the biggest challenges.

PROCESO CREATIVO:

El Boceto: siempre comienzo con un boceto, para mí es primordial hacerlo ya que me ayuda mucho con las proporciones y la deficinión de los elementos dentro del dibujo.

En esta foto pueden ver como hice el boceto para el rostro y la mano de la chica, creo que hacer bien los dedos de la mano fue uno de los mayores retos.

Once the sketch is mostly satisfied, I start to do a little more detail and small elements, for example, detailing the eyes, eyebrows, hair and headphones among other things.

Una vez que el boceto esta conforme en su mayoría comienzo a hacer un poco más de detalles y pequeños elementos, por ejemplo, detallar más los ojos, cejas, el cabello y los audífonos entre otras cosas.

Inking: many times I haven't finished the sketch when I start inking, I have the idea of ​​what I want in my head and I can't wait, I start to express those ideas directly with the pen without making a sketch. Sometimes it works and other times not so much.

El Entintado: muchas veces no he terminado el boceto cuando ya comienzo a entintar, tengo en mi cabeza la idea de lo que quiero y no puedo esperar, comienzo a plasmar esas ideas directamente con el estilógrafo sin hacerles un boceto. Muchas veces funciona y otras no mucho.

I used watercolors and some markers to apply shadows and some colors around.

Me apoyé con acuarelas y unos marcadores para aplicar sombras y algunos colores.

Antes de despedirme hagamos un poco de autocrítica:
Haciendo esta publicación me di cuenta que la boca esta algo de lado, y revisando el boceto noté lo siguiente:

Hay una desproporción en la cara de la chica, analicemos:
Las líneas amarillas son las líneas guías que hice para marcar la línea de las cejas y la boca, deberían estar paralelas para mantener la proporción y que esté todo derecho de acuerdo al ángulo, como se ve en las líneas blancas.

A esto le sumamos que la línea roja debería ir también paralela a la línea de las cejas, y no está paralela.

En conclusión el dibujo en general está bonito pero si vamos al detalle hay desproporcionalidad en la cara de la chica, para que esto no suceda debemos revisar muy bien nuestros bocetos antes de comenzar a entintar, ya que una vez que entintamos es demasiado tarde para hacer correcciones.

También recuerden que al hacer el boceto deben hacerlo sin afincar mucho el lápiz, para que a la hora de borrar y hacer correcciones no se dañé la hoja donde estén trabajando.

Before I say goodbye, let's do a little self-criticism:
Making this publication I realized that the mouth is not at a correct angle, and reviewing the sketch I noticed the following:

There is a disproportion in the girl's face, let's analyze:
The yellow lines are the guide lines that I made to mark the line of the eyebrows and the mouth, they should be parallel to maintain the proportion and that it is all straight according to the angle, as seen in the white lines.

To this we can add that the red line should also be parallel to the line of the eyebrows, and it is not parallel.

In conclusion, the drawing in general is nice, but if we go into detail, there is disproportionality in the girl's face, so that this does not happen, we must review our sketches very well before starting to ink, since once we ink it is too late to do corrections.

Also remember that when making the sketch you must do it without sharpening the pencil too much, so that when erasing and making corrections the sheet where you are working is not damaged.

Veamos una comparación de la versión original y una versión corregida de manera digital 🙂

Modificación: solo bajé un poco el ángulo de inclinación de la boca para alinearlo con el de las cejas y ojos.

Al ver las dos versiones se puede notar aún más la diferencia, entonces amigos, antes de empezar a entintar revisen muy bien el boceto. También deben aceptar que no todos nuestros trabajos quedarán excelentes, el secreto está en mantenerse trabajando siempre practicar, de todos los que hagas unos quedarán no también, y otros quedarán muy bien.

When you see the two versions you can notice the difference even more, so friends, before you start inking, check the sketch very well. They must also accept that not all our work will be excellent, the secret is to keep working, always practice, of all the ones you do, some will not be as well, and others will be very good.
