Monomad: They Call Me Owlfly
This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes.
Today I'm posting macro pictures in black and white with the subject being an owlfly perched on a grass stalk.
It is cute and beautiful, bearing a little resemblance to a dragonfly. But the two antennae are too long to be called a dragonfly, because dragonflies don't have antennae that long.
It has the scientific name Ascalaphus sinister, one of the owlfly species belonging to the family Ascalaphidae.
