Monomad: Stray Dog

While I was busy photographing insects, I didn't realize that this little guy had been watching me. When I turned around, my heart almost stopped in shock. I almost thought he was a wild boar.

He stared sharply at me. "What is this foreigner doing in my territory?" Maybe that's what he thought. I hoped he wouldn't bark, and he didn't.

I felt awkward with that guy. Even though he was small and skinny, he had guts. He didn't move an inch from his spot and just kept staring at me.

Occasionally, he scratches his neck with his hind legs. It seemed he was suffering from a skin disease—scabies, lupus, fungal infections, or whatever. Really pity!

Those eyes never left looking at me. Maybe the dog wants something. Yes, anything edible, of course. But I didn't bring anything other than photography equipment. I didn't even bring water. Damn! I feel guilty. But it can't be helped; he didn't come at the right time.

I slowly approached him, not too close, just from a distance of less than three meters. I took photos, and he was still in place.

What a handsome guy, even though he is a stray dog. I promised myself I would bring food the next time I passed through this area. Share it with him; he will certainly be happy.

This is another entry I submitted for the daily #monomad challenge.
