I recently visited Kulturpark, one of the iconic places of Izmir. This green area, which includes many fairgrounds, museums and many social facilities, is one of the most important meeting places of people. During my visit there, I visited the museum, which was the place that interested me the most. As the Izmir History and Art Museum reached its capacity and new artifacts emerged, the old museum in Kulturpark was restored and turned into a section where stone artifacts are exhibited.

Yakın zamanda İzmir'in simge yerlerinden biri olan Kültürpark'ı ziyaret ettim. İçerisinde çok sayıda fuar alanı, müze ve birçok sosyal tesisin bulunduğu bu yeşil alan insanların en önemli buluşma yerlerinden bir tanesi. Oraya yaptığım ziyaret sırasında en çok ilgimi çeken yer olan müzeyi ziyaret ettim. İzmir Tarih ve Sanat Müzesi'nin kapasitesinin dolması ve yeni eserlerin ortaya çıkması sonucu, Kültürpark içerisindeki eski müze onarılıp taş eserlerin sergilendiği bölüm haline getirilmiş.

Sculptures from the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods are exhibited in the stone works section. The artifacts here consist of the archaeological excavation sites in Izmir and the artifacts unearthed during the construction of the subway.

Taş eserler bölümünde Arkaik, Klasik, Helenistik, Roma ve Bizans dönemine ait heykeller sergilenmektedir. Buradaki eserler İzmirde bulunan arkeoljik kazı alanlarından ve metro inşaatı sırasında çıkarılan eserlerden oluşmaktadır.
