That's illegal in most countries, though...
Here in Libya, when something's expiry date becomes near it gets sold for cheaper, because selling expired date food is very illegal. It's rarely enforced, but when it does, the retailers lose everything!!
Then there's my father who willingly eats something that expired a month ago. !LOLZ
Still, it's a terrifying thought!!!

A lot of chinese companies buy old clothing from US and Canada and resells it again back but I noticed instead of reselling the food, one can donate a week earlier to homless they can finish rather than we keeping it in restock.
That's true... Do clothes even get an expire date, though?
In a way they should have date.. some bacteria can survive washing machine and chemicals and can travel through and infect skins.
Expiry date just indicates when peak is reached, not when it becomes bad. A day or 2 after is no big deal. Even then, date is for the container and not the actual good.
Months after the expiry date for food, though, is asking for trouble.
