Bitcoin Halv(en)ing less than 100 days away! Price guess contest.
So, I'm stoked for this. I think the hype and inflation change will bring wonderful things to the crypto ecosystem. Well, at least for those chains that can scale. The other chains are going to get a nice bump before shit starts breaking, but that's an aside to this post.
The countdown clock is now showing under 100 days. I see targets between May 5-12 online. So, the final date is still up in air. The hashpower of the network determines the blocktimes and then the system adjusts. As the hashpower speeds up, which is what it's doing right now, we're seeing the halv(en)ing date move forward (sooner) in time.
So, I'm curious what you guys think the prices of bitcoin and steem will be on the day it halves.
BTC under or over 10k?
Steem under or over $1?
Anyway, let's do a small contest
100 steem (max $100) to the person that guesses the closing price of bitcoin on the day that halves.
100 steem (max $100) to the person that guesses the closing price of steem on the day that bitcoin halves.
Price is Right rules are in effect. So, you have to guess that is the closest to the price and ever so slightly below it (use at least 2 decimal points for the steem price). Tell us why you think that price.
Ties split the purse.
Someone will have to remind me of this when it halves. Also guesses are only valid while this post remains unpaid. Guesses after that timeframe will be ignored.

I think there will be a bit of a Bullish market on that day and it will drag the cryptocurrency market in general, including Steem. I don't think, however, that it will go much further because the purchases will be controlled for fear of a new bubble.

In may we will be enjoying 52.07 USD cent steem at just over 3500 satoshis.
This puts bitcoin at 14877 USD, a recent high for it. I do not think we will see All time high for BTC or steem before the date range in question.

BTC will go up before the halving but everyone expects profit taking after the halving so not much of an effect around the time of the halving. Inevitably, the effects of the scarcity will kick in and BTC will go parabolic. Probably late next year.
Alts will do something but will not properly pump until after greedy speculators start looking for pour their profits from BTC into. That will take place after the new ATH of Bitcoin.
Cant wait for the "Chinaning". I value Bitcoin as much as i value the steam engine. (not Steemengine) Cool to look at, would be nice in my antique collection but for most part worthless.
If im honest id go for under 8000 USD. The investors are morons and the hype machine is strong. After the Chinaning stuff will change.

Lol I have been in the space awhile and it would not surprise me one bit.. We saw it go to $8 back when there were only like 15k Steem accounts so with over 1 million accounts now idk 🤔 Especially now with SMTs coming and Splinterlands going mainstream, but we’ll see I guess lol

I think btc will pump to around 12-14k sometime before the halving which will cause a big sell off dropping us to the 10k level... I think btc will be stuck at 9989 usd on the day of the halving.
As for steem....I think we will have some volatility, we may go up pretty high compared to now but some people will still want to take profits and get to the halving around 21.99 usd.
