[Esp-Eng] Día de hacer hallacas y compartir en Familia.
Saludos amigos de #hive y #catarsis, espero estén teniendo una agradable semana y se estén preparando para este 24 de diciembre, fecha para pasar entre amigos y familiares, sin duda conmovedora, a veces triste para algunos y alegre para otros, pero de corazón espero todos lleguen a tener un feliz 24 y 25 de diciembre, lleno de amor y armonía. Sin duda diciembre trae con él varios días y reuniones importantes, para mi en especial uno de estos es el día en que preparamos las hallacas, lo cual no se hace sólo en día sino en dos. Siendo el primero de estos el día en que picamos la carne y aliños y cocinamos la carne, y el día siguiente el día en que empezamos a hacer las hallacas.

No doubt December brings with it several important days and meetings, for me especially one of these is the day we prepare the hallacas, which is not done only in one day but in two. The first of these is the day we chop the meat and seasonings and cook the meat, and the next day is the day we start making the hallacas.
Estas fechas son conmovedoras ya que nos reunimos en familia, en mi caso vienen mis padres y mi hermano, ya que yo vivo con mi abuela, primitos y una tía que viene de vez en cuando. Entre todos aportamos para comprar lo que se necesita y ver a quién le toca qué. Para mi es muy especial este año ya que empecé a aportar para la compra de estos materiales. Actualmente yo soy el que se encarga del sustento de alimentos y lo que se necesite en casa de mi abuela, ya que ella y yo juntos nos hacemos cargo de mis primitos desde hace dos años, debido que sus padres se encuentran fuera del estado, y desde ese entonces mi abuela y yo los cuidamos y los mantenemos, siendo este nuestro nuevo núcleo familiar.
In my case my parents and my brother come, since I live with my grandmother, cousins and an aunt who comes from time to time. Together we all contribute to buy what is needed and see who gets what. For me this year is very special since I started to contribute to the purchase of these materials. Currently I am the one who is in charge of food and whatever is needed at my grandmother's house, since she and I together took care of my little cousins two years ago, because their parents are out of state, and since then my grandmother and I take care of them and maintain them, being this our new family nucleus.
En el día uno, que es el día de lavar, picar y buscar las hojas, sin duda es un día de mucho que hacer, así que nos dividimos en grupos. Lo hermoso de que mis primitos vivan con nosotros es que no hay nada más feliz que a ver niños ser felices y que disfrutan mucho estas actividades; ellos son cuatro, tres niñas y un niño, aunque el niño ya tiene 13 y está siendo un pre-adolescente, pero para mi siguen siendo ese pequeño que hace unos años atrás cargaba y les enseñaba a caminar. Nosotros en casa contamos con diversas matas, y como tenemos matas de plátano y cambur, de ahí sacamos las hojas para las hallacas, las cuales cortamos, lavamos y luego pasamos por fuego y todo el proceso para que estén listas para las hallacas.
On day one, which is the day of washing, chopping and looking for the leaves, it is certainly a day with a lot to do, so we divide into groups. The beautiful thing about my little cousins living with us is that there is nothing happier than to see children being happy and enjoying these activities; they are four, three girls and a boy, although the boy is already 13 and is being a pre-adolescent, but for me they are still that little boy that a few years ago I used to carry and teach them to walk. We have several bushes at home, and since we have banana and cambur leaves, we take the leaves for the hallacas, which we cut, wash and then we put them through fire and the whole process so that they are ready for the hallacas.
Los aliños se lavan y la carne se pone a descongelar desde muy temprano, todas estas actividades las dirige mi mamá (abuela en realidad pero todos les decimos mamá), sin duda la cabecilla de nuestra familia, una mujer a la que amo y admiro mucho, que ha sido y seguirá siendo super incondicional conmigo y por la que hoy en día estoy donde estoy y por la cual busco superarme, ya que una de mis metas es darle a ella y a mis primitos una mejor calidad de vida.
The dressings are washed and the meat is defrosted very early in the morning, all these activities are directed by my mom (grandmother actually but we all call them mom), undoubtedly the head of our family, a woman I love and admire very much, who has been and will continue to be super unconditional with me and for which today I am where I am and for which I seek to improve myself, since one of my goals is to give her and my cousins a better quality of life.
Luego se empiezan a picar las orillas de las hojas, trabajo en los que mi tía y yo nos turnamos, porque hay que ser muy delicados, para no romper la hoja o cortar por donde no se debe, estas tareas tal vez como en toda familia suelen ser específicas para alguien, recuerdo que antes cuando era pequeño mi trabajo era lavar las hojas, pero no podía tocar nada que fuese del guiso, ya que eso era de los mayores. Defraudadamente en esta ocasión mi padre y hermano tuvieron que trabajar y mi madre estuvo ocupada, así que todo este proceso de hacer hallacas lo hicimos entre mamá, mis primos, mi tía y yo, pero de igual forma se disfruta en familia, contando anécdotas y chistes.
Then they begin to chop the edges of the leaves, work in which my aunt and I take turns, because you have to be very delicate, not to break the leaf or cut where it should not, these tasks perhaps as in any family are usually specific to someone, I remember that before when I was little my job was to wash the leaves, but I could not touch anything that was the stew, because that was the elders. Unfortunately on this occasion my father and brother had to work and my mother was busy, so this whole process of making hallacas was done between mom, my cousins, my aunt and me, but it is still enjoyed as a family, telling anecdotes and jokes.
Luego de picar todo mamá en la noche cocina carne, dejando la lista para el día siguiente, y Dios mío, el olor era divino, al punto de ya querer que fuese el otro día para poder probarlo al comer hallacas. Al día siguiente mi mamá se levanta muy temprano para terminar el guiso, picando la carne y el resto de lo que faltaba para proceder a echarlo en la olla y así tener el guiso listo para empezar a hacer la masa. Aquí mi mamá es la que tiene mucha experiencia y hace esa masa en cuestión de segundos, sin duda se le nota lo mucho que sabe, por eso me encanta verla cocinar, e incluso ella lo disfruta mucho.
After chopping everything, mom cooks the meat at night, leaving it ready for the next day, and my God, the smell was divine, to the point of wanting it to be the next day to be able to taste it while eating hallacas. The next day my mom gets up very early to finish the stew, chopping the meat and the rest of what was missing to proceed to throw it in the pot and thus have the stew ready to start making the dough. Here my mom is the one who has a lot of experience and makes that dough in a matter of seconds, without a doubt you can tell how much she knows, that's why I love to see her cooking, and even she enjoys it a lot.
Por ello me da felicidad lo poco a poco que he ido surgiendo gracias a #hive, porque gracias a eso he podido hacer que mi mamá volviera a hacer tortas, dulces, postres, y otros tipos de comida que antes no se hacían por la situación país y de vivir fuertemente al día a día, sin duda hubieron tiempos difíciles que poco a poco se han ido superando, más por el hecho de que aquí somos 6 personas y yo soy el único que genera, pero gracias a Dios mi tía ayuda de vez en cuando con lo que puede y mis padres igual, y poco a poco a todos nos ha ido mejor. Por eso busco seguir creciendo como artista y mejorando en mi contenido y dibujos, para así seguir surgiendo y poder darles poco a poco mejores cosas a mi familia, que mi mamá tenga una hermosa vejez y tranquila a pesar de la situación del país, y que mis primitos disfruten su infancia y juventud, ya que ellos son mi principal motor de fuerza para seguir adelante.

That's why I seek to continue growing as an artist and improving my content and drawings, so I can continue to emerge and gradually give better things to my family, that my mother has a beautiful and peaceful old age despite the situation of the country, and that my cousins enjoy their childhood and youth, as they are my main engine of strength to move forward.
Ahora sí, viene lo que todos esperábamos, la elaboración de las hallacas, primero a cada quien se les da una cantidad de hojas y se pone la masa en la mesa, y se procede a lo que es estirar la masa en la hoja, mis primitas estaban muy emocionadas y felices de ayudar con eso. Todos nos ponemos alrededor de la mesa y vamos poco a poco hasta terminar con toda la masa. Después empezamos a lo que es echar guiso, pasas, aceitunas y alcaparras, y lo que es amarrar.
Now comes what we were all waiting for, the elaboration of the hallacas, first everyone is given a number of sheets and the dough is put on the table, and we proceed to stretch the dough on the sheet, my little cousins were very excited and happy to help with that. Pero eso si, antes cada quien elabora su hallaca, a la cual le puedes echar la cantidad de pasas y otros ingredientes a su gusto, y cada quien le hace una marca para poder diferenciarla de las demás, también se les hizo una hallaca super grande a mis padres y mi hermano, aún cuando no estuvieron presentes en este proceso de elaboración de las hallacas. En esta parte de la elaboración a mi me toca amarrar, mientras dos de mis primitas y mi tía son las que hechas el guiso. Ahí pasamos un buen rato, haciendo y amarrando toda la cantidad de hallacas hasta el mediodía, por otro lado mi mamá (abuela) y mi primito se encargaron del fogón y la olla donde se cocinarian.

La cara de felicidad de mamá es indiscutible, me encanta y la amo mucho y me da alegría verla así, lo genial es que un vecino pasó y le regaló un pancito por navidad, mi mamá es una persona muy querida, hasta los vecinitos cuando la ven le piden la bendición, aún cuando ella misma dice que no sabe quienes son, pero igual les echa la bendición. Mi mamá es una mujer de buen corazón, trabajadora que siempre ayuda a los demás aún cuando no tiene nada, es de las que lo da todo.
My mom's happy face is indisputable, I love her very much and it gives me joy to see her like that, the great thing is that a neighbor passed by and gave her a little bread for Christmas, my mom is a very dear person, even the neighbors ask her blessing when they see her, even when she herself says that she does not know who they are, but she still blesses them. My mom is a good-hearted, hard-working woman who always helps others even when she has nothing, she is one of those who gives everything.
La primera parte de las hallaca estuvo lista a la 1pm, esperamos un rato para que se enfriarán y así pasar a comernos las primeras hallacas de este diciembre, luego en la tarde mi madre vino y empezamos con lo que fue la segunda parte, pero esta vez yo estuve terminando un dibujo así que no pude colaborar, la segunda parte la terminaron como a las 5 de la tarde, luego de enfriarse mi padre vino por la parte de las hallacas que le toca. Mi mamá y mi tía hicieron bollitos con la masa y el poco guiso que quedó, le echaron azúcar e hicieron bollitos dulces para cenar.

My mom and my aunt made dumplings with the dough and the little stew that was left, they added sugar and made sweet dumplings for dinner.
Sin duda estas actividades en familia nos crean anécdotas y buenos recuerdos, nos hacen disfrutar y olvidar todo aquello que nos ocurre afuera, como en el trabajo, estudios, o en nuestra vida cotidiana, tal vez a veces no podamos estar todos reunidos como familia, pero igual hay que saber apreciar lo que se tiene hoy sin pensar en lo que se tuvo ayer y lo que se tendrá mañana. Estas fechas son muy especiales y así se tenga mucho o poco igual con reunirse y compartir basta para pasarla bien, compartir en familia siempre debe ser algo importante, y más con aquellos que siempre están apoyando y velando por el bienestar de uno. En estos momentos y más por la situación país y la pandemia no se sabe si el año que viene estemos todos de nuevo o unos se hayan mudado o no puedan viajar, por eso y otras cosas siempre hay que vivir el momento y disfrutarlo, para que así se vuelva un hermoso recuerdo y otra nueva razón de amar y querer.
Undoubtedly these family activities create anecdotes and good memories, they make us enjoy and forget everything that happens outside, as in work, studies, or in our daily lives, maybe sometimes we can not all be together as a family, but still we must know how to appreciate what we have today without thinking about what we had yesterday and what we will have tomorrow. These dates are very special and whether you have a lot or little, getting together and sharing is enough to have a good time, sharing as a family should always be important, especially with those who are always supporting and watching over your wellbeing. At this time and more because of the country's situation and the pandemic we do not know if next year we will all be here again or some have moved or can not travel, for that and other things we must always live the moment and enjoy it, so that it becomes a beautiful memory and another new reason to love and love.
