Michael Thomas 2021 Absolute/Panini NFL Card - New Orleans Saints Wide Receiver

Before unfortunately dealing with injury the past two years, Michael Thomas may have had the hottest start to an NFL career I have ever seen by a wide receiver in a long time, perhaps in my entire life.

From his rookie year in 2016, to his last full season played to date in 2019, Thomas had a minimum of 1,137 receiving yards and steadily improved statistically in several major categories like: receptions, receiving yards, receiving yards per game, and receptions for first downs.

This steady improvement led to this ridiculous 2019 stat line:

  • 149 Receptions - #1 ALL-TIME in a single season in NFL History
  • 1,725 Receiving Yards - #8 ALL-TIME in a single season in NFL History
  • 9 Touchdown Receptions

When healthy, Michael Thomas can't be covered.

Michael Thomas's career accolades:

  • 2019 NFL Offensive Player of the Year
  • 2x NFL First-Team All-Pro
  • 3x Pro Bowls

Thomas's ankle injury slowly seemed to effect him, leading him to play in just seven games in 2020, and miss 2021 entirely. Him slowly fading away has caused a lot of people to forget about him. Thomas was arguably the best receiver in the game, and he just vanished. It's kinda sad.

Hopefully he can make a glorious comeback in 2022 and help a Saints team that has a new QB (basically, since Thomas hasn't played much in two years) and a new coach. Some analysts think the Saints can actually be like, a top team this season. I suppose if Thomas is back and back to what he was before, it's plausible. The defense in New Orleans is solid too. It all depends on Jameis in my opinion. Thomas's legacy would look that much nicer if he can be elite without an elite QB!

A nice, simple card of an all-time great and he's not even 30 years old yet!

Interestingly, since Thomas hasn't stepped on the field in a long time, his career statline on this card are his exact career totals to this day.

What are your thoughts on Thomas's ability to make a great NFL comeback?

This video may be slightly misleading, but it's still overall not bad and informative.
