Deion Branch 2011 Topps NFL Card - New England Patriots Wide Receiver

avatar

Wide receiver Deion Branch had a really interesting NFL career that lasted from 2002-2012.

Branch never started a full sixteen game season, and only appeared in every game in one season. He never surpassed 1,000 receiving yards, and was never even selected to a Pro Bowl.

Despite never reaching those milestones, Branch had a steady, solid career. Plus, Branch did accomplish some super amazing things, things that other superstar wide receivers never have.

Man I am a SUCKER for a good snowy football card!

Branch is one of the most clutch receivers in playoff history, and instrumental for the New England Patriots winning back to back Super Bowl Championships in the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons. Branch was even the Super Bowl MVP for his 11 reception, 133 yard performance in Super Bowl XXXIX (2004/05) against the Eagles.

It's not all that common for receivers to win Super Bowl MVPs, especially back in the early 2000's.

During those two Super Bowl runs I mentioned, six games in total, Branch caught 31 passes for 440 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Branch might not have all the shiny Pro Bowls, or anything like that, but the dude has two rings in which he helped greatly in achieving, and a Super Bowl MVP to his name. I'll be honest, those accomplishments are worth way more in my opinion than just crazy regular season statlines and MVPs.

Besides, his regular season stats are nothing to laugh at.

Deion Branch Career NFL Stats:

  • 518 Receptions
  • 6,644 Receiving Yards
  • 39 Touchdown Receptions

That's about 47 receptions, 604 receiving yards and 4 touchdown receptions a season.

Deion's PLAYOFF Stats

  • 17 Games Played
  • 64 Receptions
  • 948 Receiving Yards
  • 4 Touchdown Receptions

What a solid career! Now it seems that Deion is back with his alma mater at Louisville as a Director of Player Development.
