Chamomile

THE GIFT OF CALM FROM MOTHER NATURE

I'm no tea expert, I'm a coffee guy, but Iv'e been getting more into teas lately especially during the time I wasn't drinking coffee earlier this year. I've particularly been into herbal teas (even though all teas are "herbal" lol). Of all the herbs I've been drinking, chamomile has had the largest, previously unexpected, effect on me.

All you tea experts, insomniacs and and anxious folk already knows this, but apparently chamomile has a very calming effect on the brain. As such, the aforementioned sufferers of anxiety, sleepless nights, and other such conditions have used this herb for many centuries. Other similar herbs used to calm the mind include passionflower, lemon balm and valerian root.

In the absence of caffeine and other brain stimulants, I was able to feel the full effect of this herb. Also, I was drinking a pure and organic version, which is much more potent than the diluted low quality versions. At first I started noticing getting tired and drowsy half an hour to an hour after drinking a cup of chamomile tea. I first put it down to lack of adequate sleep or caffeine withdrawals until I googled the effects of some of these herbs.

Turns out chamomile is a mild sedative and counteracts some of the chemicals in the brain that cause an overactive state of mind and body. It reduces the often irrational flight-fight response generated by anxiety, PTSD and other such conditions. No wonder.

The herb also has an anti-inflammatory property and can aid in weight loss apparently. People have been using it to reduce irritation in the eyes, skin and other body parts. It also has a pleasant and soothing smell and taste, which is also a psychological aid in and of itself.

Chamomile, it appears, is one of natures gift to us which I've been more than glad to discover.

Peace & Love,

Adé

Seems chamomile is the tea to go, buhhhh, I'm someone who always loves to be active, plus I have some health issues, that reacts to the effect of substances that I take in. You've been a fan of tea for a really long time hahah. Sometimes I wonder why hahah.

We have a running joke about chamomile. Whenever we see anyone on telly losing their shit, we say, 'you know what he needs' and the answer is 'a good cup of chamomile tea' 😂😂

I'm glad you discovered it. It's my go to with migraines or gastro too.. it's so soothing. Great little post reminding us all about this common wonder medicine!!!
