A DAY AS MY TUTOR

Hey, hi ….
How is your day? How do you fell this week ?
I hope it is good.. uh-huh
Just staring the new week with myself. I have many fun story. And today, I will share with everyone the story between me and my students. I named the story a “Tutor’s journey”. I bet that, many people will wonder why being a tutor is a journey. Let’ s read the post.

Me and my students

Before telling the story I will give a brief introduction about my students. Her nickname is “Nơ” (Nơ means bow). She is currently in 1st grade. She is very cute and agile.

WHY I BEING A TUTOR?

When Vietnamese parent teach their children to study, they often lose patience, and leading to beat with their children.

... And the COVID-19 pandemic happened 4 times this year. All students must change their learning mode from “face to face” to “online”. And me too. The continue pandemic situation caused the income of each family to decrease. But her parents do not want their child to be lose for her friends.

I want to earn the money, but without spending too much time and energy
That is the reason why I am a tutor for her.

TUTOR’S JOURNEY

The first day I met her. I keep thinking my head, wow she look like smart, vivacious. I will not be too hard to teach her. But nooooooooo, she is too play full and loves to watch TV. I am completely broken. She forgot almost what she learned.

... Do you know that Vietnamese is a difficult language???

This is alphabet Vietnamese

In Vietnam, the curriculum of grade 1 is veery difficult
Such as:
Rock means “đá”
Ice means “đá”
Stone means “đá”
Kick means “đá”
You see with the word “đá”. It has many meanings.

I have been teaching for 2 weeks. I change 2 different teaching methods t help her regain the knowledge.
Fist methods is that I teach her to read and memorize the alphabet in the book. But she just memorized the example image of that word, can not remember word when I asked to write it. She says noooo.

... I change a new methods is that I found a small board. Then I write the words in the book on the board. And she also write follow me in notebook. And then, she read the word s follow me out loud many times. And it is repeated for other words.

... The results is great, she progress very fast. I hope we will speed up learning for prepare her final exam.

FUNNY STORY

Her aunt usually calls me “Trung fat belly”. One day, I am busy. I informed her aunt that she mised school for 1 day. And she wonder why got a rest. Then she call me by phone:
My student: Hello Trung uncle, what are you busy with today?
Mẹ: I go to the hospital to visit my friends.
My student: I do not believe. Maybe you go to antenatal check.
Me: Why you say that???
My student: Because I see your belly is very big, maybe the baby is to be born.
Me and her aunt smile so loud, ………
