My Cleaning Activity For Sunday the 5th of May, 2024.

Good day, fellow hivers, welcome to my blog. I carried out my cleaning activity as usual, but could not post it earlier due to a power outage.

I noticed that the rate at which refuse is being thrown into the environment is alarming if nothing is done about it. “There is no such thing as away. When you throw something away, it must go somewhere.”
wraps of sweets and biscuits, sachet of papers, water, polythene, plastic bottles etc that are thrown into the environment are not thrown away but are lying within the community.

The main environmental damage was the stench and outbreak of diseases such as malaria, cholera, diarrhoea, and typhoid. The main effect of this pollution is the attraction of flies and mosquitoes, which results in outbreaks of cholera, malaria, typhoid and surface water contamination and soil contamination; where hazardous chemicals from the refuse leach into the soils and affect plants and animals that come into contact with such polluted soils, resulting in land or soil contamination and serving as breeding grounds for disease vectors.

These pictures show how I carried out my cleaning activity.
