My Cleaning Activity For Sunday 31st of March, 2024.

Good morning my fellow Hivers, welcome to my blog. Today I carried out my cleaning in my community. I trekked through the community, picking up dirt around noon. The refuse that was disposed of indiscriminately included polythene, sachets of water, paper, plastic bottles, wraps of biscuits and sweets.

As I was picking up the plastic bottles, I noticed that there were various numbers on these bottles. I made a few findings on these plastics. I noticed that the chasing arrow symbols we see on plastics and products with number within the arrow, do not mean the container is recyclable.
These numbers range from one(1) to seven(7). The purpose of the number is to indicate the type of plastic used for the product.
These numbers are plastic codes.

Polyethylene terephthalates,
high-density Polyethylene,
Polyvinyl Chloride,
Low-Density Polyethylene,
Polypropylene,
Polystyrene,
(Bisphenol A, polycarbonate and LEXAN.

We need to find ways to minimize the use of plastics. Because they cause a lot of harm to the environment,biodegradable utensils, compostable wrappers, plant-based bottles, and compressed fiber plates
Can be used instead of plastics.
