Sunday walk to downtown.

Hi friends from #weekendexperiences, last weekend I was lucky enough to go out with my family for a walk downtown, we took advantage of the fact that the house we just moved into is a ten minute walk from downtown to go see what was going on there, also to have an ice cream and a desert, so I decided to take some pictures to share with you.

The entrance of the town hall.

Handicraft market.

Handicraft market.

The first point to visit was the City Hall, there are always activities there and this weekend was no exception, they had installed a small craft market, plus a small exhibition of some dolls that are known here as mojigangas that participated in a parade a little over two weeks ago, there were some very colorful and others not so much, but all in general had their attractive.

The mojigangas.

This place is very representative of the culture of the state of Puebla, where I live, since it is decorated with mosaics called Talavera, which are manufactured here, besides that the walls are adorned with beautiful murals.

Mural with the Name of the town.

More murals.

Murals everywhere.

In Mexico there was a great muralist movement at the beginning of the 20th century, among the exponents of this art are Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Rufino Tamayo, among others that at the moment I do not remember. Since then, murals have become a very common expression of Mexican art and can be found adorning important places, as in the case of this City Hall, but also at universities, museums, government palaces, etc.

Jaguar and eagle Warriors.

The legend of two vocanos.

The next one has an incredible history, the text could be translated as:
This mural is a tribute to the workers who left their lives in the factories, who suffered injustice and unpunished murders. It is also an allegory to the libertarian ideal. And a recognition of women workers.

Dedicated to the factory workers.

The inscription.

We ended the little tour with a flourish, we made a visit to our favorite coffee shop where I could enjoy a slice of peach cake with almonds and an oreo milkshake, I must confess that this disappointed me a little because what I really wanted was a slice of Cheesecake, but it was already finished.

Gelateria Italiana.

Awesome coffeeshop.

Although I must admit that despite the disappointment, the peach cake with almonds was really delicious. Another fiasco was the milkshake, since it said cookie on the menu and I mistakenly assumed it was a type of cookie called "Galleta Maria" which is a flavor I love, but it turns out it wasn't, it was of Oreo cookie, which I don't like so much, but I was surprised with how tasty the milkshake was, so I didn't feel so bad about it.

The menu.

Our order.

My husband had a slice of Tiramisu and we both shared the milkshake, while for my son we chose a strawberry snow (ice cream without milk) which is his favorite, plus, for me, it is the most delicious flavor there.

Finally, we said goodbye to downtown and returned home, satisfied and very happy to have had a good time together.

The last view before heading home.

Thank you very much for reading, I hope you like the pictures and see you in comments.

Those places are beautiful, every time you talk about Puebla, I imagine the soap operas I've seen, that have been filmed in that place.

How nice that you have the opportunity to see such beautiful places in the company of your family friend @adalathu.

I'm glad you had a different afternoon.
When you don't like the oreo milkshake send it to me, I love it!
Those walks that seem simple, are the best, because you focus on what really matters: the company and relaxing for a while from the routine.

Exactly, with the whole thing of the move we were going crazy, that walk was a very necessary respite within the madness that has been August.

I'll send the milkshake vía dhl, but I don't In what state it arrives😁
