RE: Back to Music - Three Tune Tuesday (#100)

Music is with me all the time, whether it comes from the many devices that now make it easier to find and play it, or from my memories, my tired old brain that often amazes me. It amazes me because it finds in its recesses dozens of old songs, some of them unheard for decades, and yet they sit stored somewhere and often turn on in my head. I think I've made a too convoluted introduction to say that I prefer old music that delighted and comforted my childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood. Music that I can't forget and can't replace with the new, even though I try my hardest to stay close to the new.

Great intro and that really resonates with me, and I like you often have songs pop into my head from years and years or even decades ago. A thought, a smell, a person might bring it into my consciousness. I also tend to gravitate towards the music that I liked and found between the ages of around 13 and 26. I still discover new music all the time, but often go back to my old classics..

Ah one song, and three covers and of course the original... I like it and I like John Lennon and it was interesting to hear about your perspective from your youth in Romania back in the day.

Well, if I were a working-class hero I'd break the rules and... put on another version of this song. A version I've never heard before, but now I've found it when researching for this post.

Love it!! Ha ha, and glad that you bent the rules to share a fourth version which was excellent.

I know that if I don't follow the rules I won't participate in the competition. Fair enough. I'm just not interested in winning. The real win was the pleasure of writing this post, getting ready, looking for music, listening to it, re-listening to it, and remembering my youth!

Don't worry man, you are still in contention, even though I know it doesn't bother you, I am not big on rules! So long as you share some tunes and remember the tags, that's it.

Thank you! I figured that a music lover can't be so inflexible as to disagree with yet another song. I played around a bit but basically told the truth about the competition. I love the Olympic spirit. The important thing is participation, not necessarily winning!
I'm glad you confirm that music listened to in adolescence and youth remains for life and there are so many reminders of it.
I love the idea that music can, still, bring people together and look forward to writing again in #ttt.
