Adaptation of a gel battery to a DT BR-200 motorcycle [Eng-Esp]

Feliz día, amigos de Hive. Los saludo con mucho cariño, deseando que tanto usted como cada uno de los miembros de su familia se encuentren bien. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, la experiencia que viví junto a mi hermano, adaptando una batería a una moto.

Happy day, friends of Hive. I greet you with much affection, wishing you and each of the members of your family are well. Today I want to share with you, the experience I lived with my brother, adapting a battery to a motorcycle.

Amigos, la batería es un componente que conforma la parte eléctrica de la moto y también de los carros. La función de la batería es almacenar corriente. La batería trabaja con voltaje DC o corriente continua, que es diferente de la corriente alterna. La corriente continua es la que se puede almacenar.

Como las baterías son de diferentes tamaños, es importante tomar su medida antes de ir a comprarla, de esta manera nos evitaremos viajes innecesarios al negocio en donde las venden. Para tomar la medida de la batería, se utiliza una herramienta llamada vernier, este nos dará la medida exacta de la batería que necesita la moto.

Particularmente, les recomiendo que lleven la moto al establecimiento en donde vendan sus repuestos, porque en ocasiones suceden imprevistos con respecto a las medidas que se toman. Esto fue lo que le ocurrió a mi hermano, él se confió y fue a comprar la batería, pero cuando llegó a casa no era de la medida exacta. Así que, tuvo que ir de nuevo y llevarse la moto.

Friends, the battery is a component that makes up the electrical part of the motorcycle and also of the cars. The function of the battery is to store current. The battery works with DC voltage or direct current, which is different from alternating current. The direct current is the one that can be stored.

As the batteries are of different sizes, it is important to take its measure before buying it, this way we will avoid unnecessary trips to the store where they sell them. To take the measurement of the battery, a tool called vernier is used, this will give us the exact measurement of the battery that the motorcycle needs.

Particularly, I recommend that you take the motorcycle to the establishment where they sell their spare parts, because sometimes unforeseen events happen with respect to the measurements that are taken. This is what happened to my brother, he was confident and went to buy the battery, but when he got home it was not the exact size. So, he had to go again and take the bike with him.

La batería cuenta con dos polos, uno negativo y otro positivo. En el momento de instalarla; se coloca en su sitio y se procede a tomar el cable positivo de la moto para conectarlo en el polo positivo de la batería. El mismo procedimiento lo llevamos a cabo con el cable negativo de la moto.

The battery has two poles, one negative and the other positive. At the moment of installing it; it is placed in its place and we proceed to take the positive cable of the motorcycle to connect it in the positive pole of the battery. The same procedure is carried out with the negative cable of the motorcycle.

Las herramientas que se utilizan para llevar a cabo está conexión son: un alicate y un destornillador de estría. Con dichas herramientas se ajustan los bornes de los cables de electricidad de la moto.

The tools used to carry out this connection are: pliers and a slotted screwdriver. These tools are used to adjust the terminals of the motorcycle's power cables.

Luego que estuvo instalada la batería, mi hermano antes de colocarle la tapa a la moto le colocó una pletina ajustada con candado, para que los amigos de lo ajeno se les dificulte hurtarla. Posteriormente le coloca su tapa para que la batería no quede visible al público.

After the battery was installed, my brother, before putting the cover on the bike, put a padlocked plate on it, so that it would be difficult for the friends of the unwanted to steal it. Afterwards, he put the cover on it so that the battery would not be visible to the public.

Teniendo batería nueva, a la moto le funcionan las luces de cruce, la luz de freno, el faro principal, la corneta y el encendido electrónico. Ya está lista para agarrar carretera. Por lo tanto, siempre será una buena inversión comprar una batería.

With a new battery, the bike now has working low beam, brake light, headlight, horn and electronic ignition. It is now ready to hit the road. Therefore, it will always be a good investment to buy a battery.
