Welcome 2021, please be nice!

Well, here we are in 2021 and I guess we're all wondering where this year will take us.

Of course, I'm expecting there will be many more fireworks set off in the political arena however, I believe that the people blogging on Hive, already have a good understanding of governments, politics and the central banking cronies; I mean, that's why we're here, isn't it?

For myself, 2021 is going to take on an entirely new flavour.

While the 'powers that be' would like us all to be sinking under the weight of our own (manufactured) fear, I have managed to close the year-end on a really positive note with a new job offer. Due to the current situation, I realise that to have ANY work (or income) is a blessing but to ALSO be able to work in an area that I'm trained for AND in an industry that I love, well... you can clearly see why I accepted the position.

Looking forward, I see this as great opportunity to get my finances in order and work towards some personal goals. For the past 5 years, I've felt like my feet were stuck in quicksand with no escape in sight, so I welcome the chance to take those first big steps away from that sinkhole.

So, what are my goals for 2021?

'Family' is the big one for me this year, spending time with them, either in person or over the phone is a given. My parents, siblings and 2 of my 3 children live across 3 different cities/states and visits require much forward planning. It really is true that you don't know how important things are until they're taken away from you and not being able to see my family in the last half of 2020 has shown how much they truly mean to me.

Financially, I hope to have a little more cash in my pocket although I'm also planning to save heavily so most of that overflow will probably be redirected into savings of some sort. My understanding of trading has increased during 2020 which helps me feel a lot more confident when making online transactions and I hope to keep adding to my portfolio here and there. Nothing too outrageous though, as my income determines that my strategy will always have a slow and steady approach.

With so much going on this year, I do worry that I'll be able to keep posting on a regular basis and have considered that I may need a new approach. Currently, I do all of my writing at a desktop where I have access to photos and image editing software. Generally, I edit my photos to make them look a tad professional, however moving forward, I realise that I may not have time to be so particular... we'll see how it pans out, maybe it's time to start exploring some of the popular new front-ends that were designed for use with smartphones.

Do you have a favourite front-end that you use to blog from your smartphone?
If so, LMK and I'll try to find one that rolls my way.

Other than that, my goals are much like every other year... 'to just put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward'.

How about you? Have you set any goals for 2021?

What do you hope will be different this year?

And what are you going to do to MAKE that happen?

Until next time... xxx

Be safe and stay sane... ❤️❤️❤️
